"she's your mom?" he asked me. there was no judgement in his eyes as there would have been with my other classmates. i found confusion because i had called her my servant before and hurt that i had lied about it.
my mother tried to salvage the situation by saying, "oh, she sometimes calls me mom because i've taken care of her her whole life."
but it was clear that jimin hadn't believed any of it.
he grabbed me by the hand and walked with me in tow to another empty hallway, leaving my mother alone. when we stopped, he let go of my hand coldly.
"why would you lie like that?" he asked me, voice full of hurt. "i thought you trusted me."

things are beginning to fall apart for our main character. just when she was starting to turn things around. how unfortunate for her, but great for us because we see some drama unfold.
