When you love someone for a very long time, it'll be very difficult to let go when time requires for you to loosen your hold.

People come and go.

And most often than not, when they go, they don't return..but that's alright. Let go of the person but not the love cause no matter how far the distance, if the love is pure and real, you will always be connected.

"Hey Babes, kumusta? You've been so quiet since I fetch you from the airport. What's wrong?" Aga massaged my stiff shoulders and I leaned into his touch.

"Our daughter." I sighed and closed my eyes.

"Which daughter?" He chuckled. This has become a joke between us when Nic and KC were bantering.

"Our firstborn." I replied.

They said she was able to forgive us and opened her heart to us because she repressed her painful memories."

"Hindi ko ma-gets. Magulo."

But I realized now that in order to taw her frozen heart, we must understand where she is coming from.

Pagkatapos nun, she went to Africa. And to think she was barely ten by that time. Maybe it's something traumatic and then the following year, she lost her grandmother. Babes, yung pagpapadala sa kanya sa Cambodia at sa Africa, I think there is some kind of...I don't know how to put this...foul play?"

Aga froze and looked at me with disbelieving eyes.

Shit!" He cursed. I hold his hand and squeezed it tightly.

I won't let you do that.

"May isang gabi na natulog ako sa kwarto niya and she's talking in her sleep, it's about things na nangyari nung bata siya."

"What happened to Kendra?"

Here it is, the protective father.

"She..might have been tortured, Aga. They are saying that it's a...form of training but I'm worried that it is something else. I rummaged through her personal belongings and I found a medical record."

Aga swallowed hard. "Anong nilalaman ng mga yun?"

"Bruises. Food allergies."

"Is that all?"

"Broken bone." I said in a very small voice. Though that happened a long time ago, I am not sure if KC had completely healed.

"Shit! P*tang *na!!" Aga cussed so loud. I even flinched at the intensity of his voice.

I shuddered when he said those words.

But I shook my head to erase the thought. Even if Ciel is betrayed countless times by the people sorrounding her, she will always come out victorious. I know magsusurvive siya sa kahit anumang peligro na dumating sa buhay niya.

"She's capable of killing someone, Ags." I whispered.

"What?"

"Kaya niyang pumatay."

"Lea, that is not funny. How could you say that?

"Paano mo nalaman yan? Have you seen it yourself?"

"Sinabi sa akin ng pinsan niya. I mean, yung pinakaclose niyang miyembro ng pamilya Meyers."

"Sasamahan kita. At meron pa bang mga rebelasyon na kailangan kong malaman, Lea?" His determination to get back our daughter is very evident.

"That's one of the reasons why I came back without her. Kailangan kita. KC listens to you.

"I don't think so, Babes. After that incident with Nicole, I contacted her.

"But Ags, KC doesn't remember any of that. Remember, she's missing four years of memories."

"Then that means, there's a chance that she will come with us?"

"Maybe."

"She's not the KC you remember her to be. This one is...different. Very different.

Aga smiled. "Whether how different she could be, she's our daughter at kahit maging sino man siya, we would still love her. Because that's what parents do. Accepting and loving their children irregardless of how awful they are."

He's right. How could I forget that?

My resolution is renewed once again. My husband could truly provide me the strength I needed.

"Thank you." I said but words aren't enough to convey my gratefulness and appreciation towards this man, so I kissed him.

"What for?" He asked when our lips parted.

"For being my better half." I whispered.

"Wow, Lea. Ang sarap pakinggan nun a. He teased.

"Shut up."

He smiled and pulled me by the collar and kiss me passionately.

"Where do we start?" He whispered against my skin as he trailed soft kisses down my neck.

"We should investigate first."

Napaangat siya ng mukha at tinitigan ako.

I exhaled and explained. "We need to know the places she had been to and what happened to her."

"Alright, mama Bear."
