Quietly waiting for a bus
Attacked because he's not like us.
Seventeen and just a kid
Can't believe what people did.
Who sowed the seed,
what caused such hate?
What made them act so senselessly?
Just quietly waiting for a bus
The crowd see he's not one of us
Asylum seeker, refugee
Scrounging foreigner probably.
What sowed the seed,

Why react so violently?
Twenty, thirty people there
Who all pitched in or stopped to jeer
They beat him up, they kicked his head
A miracle he is not dead.

What made them act so violently?
Why do they think they have a right
To kick a youth who sought no fight?
Why do they think that that's alright?
Who made them think they have the right?
Who sowed that seed?
Who grew this hate?
What made them act so wickedly?
The politicians all abhorred
The hatred that their discourse caused.
They disapprove, they call them scum
The people who joined in the scrum.
