Veronica's POV

"Fine!" I yelled at Cheryl "Jughead is here."
"Oh, I thought it would be something more important." Cheryl handed me my phone and started walking out of the school. Suddenly Jughead appeared out of nowhere and said
"Don't tell Betty." He said, then he walked away. I went outside and saw Cheryl in her car waiting for me.
"Get in." She ordered as she turned the key, ready to drive.
"Thanks for driving me here." I turned to her.
"That's what friends do." She didn't bother to turn she just kept her eyes on the road. "Why was Jughead at the school?" I tried to think of some sort of lie. "An...Article for the blue and gold." I looked at her to see if she bought it, she did not.
"This late at night?" She motioned to the small clock above the radio, it was 10:30.
"I guess."
"I know you're lying V just tell me." She stopped the car, we were at my house.
"Nope," I said while getting out of the car. "See you tomorrow." I waved to her and she drove away, was she going to let that go? Probably not its Cheryl. When I got home my mom came running over to me.
"Are you ok?" She asked, why on earth was she so worried?
"Ya I'm fine, why?" My mom brought me into the living room
"I was watching the news, apparently one of your classmates got beat up by some gang and, he is in the hospital."
"What? Who was it?" Did the south side serpents do this?
"Some kid named Moose." My mom sat down on the couch "I thought that gang might go to the school and find you."
"They didn't." I sat down beside my mom. Were my friends ok? I needed to call them to make sure. "I need to call my friends to make sure they are ok." My mom nodded and I stared making some calls. First Betty.
"Hello?" She said sounding extremely tired
"Are you ok?"
"Ya I'm just tired." I heard a voice in the background "Elisabeth Cooper who on earth are you talking to!" Oh no "No one mom." She paused "I have to go, bye." She whispered. Well she's ok. Now I need to make sure Archie is ok.
"Hello?" Archie didn't seem tired
"Hey are you ok?"
"Ummm, ya."
"Ok. Bye." I turned off my phone and called Kevin, then Ethel, Josie, Val, and then Mal. After I was done calling all of my friends I went to bed.

Betty's POV

When I woke up I got dressed and went to school. We had that test that me and Veronica 'studied' for. Now it was lunch. I was sitting next to Jughead and Kevin was sitting on my other side.
"Hey guys!" Ronnie walked over to the table and sat down everyone greeted her "Did you hear about what happened to Moose?" She asked, I wonder what happened to Moose.
"No, what happened to him?" I asked
"Last night he was beat up by some guys and now he is in the hospital." Everyone looked extremely scared.
"Wait is that why you called me last night and asked if I was ok?" I asked Veronica
"Ya." Veronica took a bite of her salad. After a little bit of awkward silence Juggie tried to start a conversation
"So.. What did you guys do over the weekend." He looked at Archie who was directly across from him
"Nothing much." Archie looked down at his phone, I wonder what he was doing. Suddenly Cheryl walked over to our table and sat in between me and Kevin. Veronica looked very worried.
"Hello." She looked at Juggie "Why were you at the school last night Jughead?" Juggie gulped
"I was working on an article for the blue and gold." Jughead turned back to his food
"At 10:30?" Cheryl glared at him
"I lost track of time."
"Sure." Cheryl mumbled while getting up to leave
"Speaking of articles for the blue and go.d me and Juggie need to work on one." I stood up and grabbed his hand so I could pull him behind me. I shut the door and sat down
"Why were you at the school last night Juggie?" I asked him while thing to stay calm
"An article for the blue and gold."
"I know that's what you told Cheryl, but I want the truth."
"Fine, but you have to promise not to freak out." I nodded "I live here." I sat there for around five minutes not saying anything until I said
"Come live with me!"
"Betty, your mom would never let you do anything like that." I sighed
"Wait, why do you live here?"
"I was living at the drive-In before and now that it's gone I have to live here."
"But why don't you live with your family?"
"My mom and Jellybean left, and my dad started drinking and," Juggie paused "He's a south side serpent." Juggie mumbled the last part
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know." Juggie looked like he was about to cry so I stood up and hugged him. When we got back to the lunch table everyone looked confused.
"I thought you said you needed to work on an article for the blue and gold." Archie looked up from his food
"We went on to the draft that we had it saved on and realized it was already done." I looked over at Juggie and realized his eyes were red.
"Jughead were you crying?" I guess Veronica noticed too. Juggie simply glared at her and then sat back down.
