I was tired, and pissed. I had just driven nearly eighteen hours to be in some rinky dinky Illinois town, all to find Jeff Harkinson, a friend of Bobby's who needed help.

Sam wasn't helping at all, during the trip he kept saying, "Don't worry Dean, we will be fine.

"Damn straight we are fine."  Says my inner voice.

"We just have to find this Jeff guy, he owns a bar somewhere around here." Sam mumbles.

"What was that Sammy?" I ask, probably too much harshness in my voice.

"Nothing, we are just looking for a bar  in the middle of nowhere, it's weird."

"Sam, we are freaking hunters, and you think trying to find a bar in the middle of butt fucking nowhere, Illinois is strange?"

Sam winces a little at my words, but quiets down afterwards.

Following Bobby's instructions, I turn into a hidden entrance, and after about two miles, I start to think Bobby is pulling our legs. When the lane opens up to a bar, lights shining like a beacon in the dark night, and after eighteen hours in the car, it looked like heaven.

I park the Impala next to an old looking motorcycle.

"Hey you think we will meet good ol' Steve Rodgers in here?" I asks Sammy, while pointing to the bike.

Sam laughs, and shakes his head.

Entering the bar, we see a decent amount of people, including people at the bar, some playing pool, a couple of waiters, and two people who look like a couple in a corner, having what appeared to be a deep conversation.

I sit at the end of the bar, and motion for Sam to sit next to me. A pretty bartender walks over, and takes our order.

"Hey," I start, after she brings us our drinks. "Is a Jeff Harkinson here?."

The bartender smiles. "Yes, he is over there in the corner, hold on I will go get him for you."

My eyes, follow the woman as she goes and interrupts the lovebirds in the corner, and they both walk back with her. Upon seeing the "couple" up close, I see that he has a good twenty or so years on the girl. So, either it's his daughter, or she has daddy issues.

"Thank you Shelley." Jeff says, and stands across from us. "You can go now, and take Todd with you, he needs to stop drinking for the night I think."

Jeff, is nothing like I imagined. When Bobby said he was an ex-hunter, I assumed he had to quit because of injuries, but he seems happily retied at, I'm guessing forty-five years of age.

"You two boys grew up, damn." Jeff starts. "Last time I saw you, y'all were about this tall." He puts a hand close to his hip. "I'm assuming you don't remember?"

Sam looks at me, as the oldest I was supposed to remember memories. I shrug. "I'm sorry I don't."

The girl next to him, his daughter or girlfriend or whatever, snorts and rolls her blue eyes.

"Oh yes, sorry, this is Lia. She is...well..she Is my daughter. A damn good hunter, too." Jeff introduces her, but she scoffs.

"You expect me to work with them?" The girl named Lia says her tone ice cold.

"What?" Comes Sam's voice from beside me, and looking at my little brother, he looks confused.

"Look boys, I don't know if you have noticed but Bobby and I, we are getting older, and I can't hunt with Lia anymore, and the last time she went out, just yesterday, she was injured. I want her to work with you." Jeff explains. "Show them the wound sweetheart."

Lia rolls those baby blues again, but lifts her shirt, and both Sam and I gasp at the slash across her abdomen.

"I want you all to look after each other, deal?" Jeff asks.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You expect us to take your daughter, hunting with us?" I ask. "No way in hell."

A flicker of a smile flashes on Lia's lips.

"Dean, lets just go ahead." Sam whispers in my ears, and I can't believe it, my brother wants this girl to ride with us.

"Yeah, sure why not?" I say sarcastically, I just hope I have made a good decision.

"Okay thanks boys, Lia come with me please." Jeff says walking away.

Sitting alone, I turn on Sam. "This Is your fault, we don't need any help."

"Oh come one Dean, it won't hurt to have her come along."

I take the last sip of my beer. "You better hope so, or it will be your ass."

Sam does not reply, but just laughs, throwing back his bottle.

I get up, and place money on the bar. "I'm going to go find the princess." I announce,  and while Sam leaves the bar, I round a corner where I hear the voices of Jeff and Lia.

"I promise I will try and find it." Lia is saying.

There is a pause, then Jeff replies, "You know, your mother would be so damn proud of you."

Lia clears her throat, and then says. "Well bye Jeff."

"Yeah bye sweetheart, call me every once in a while."

When the lighter footsteps come torwards me, I run back trying to not look suspicious. Reaching the bar, I lean on it and Lia re-enters the main tavern.

"You ready?" I ask.

"Yeah." She replies, and I can see the glimmer of tears in her eyes.

I hold the door open for her, and we walk to the Impala where Sam is sitting in the passenger seat.

"Oh look how cute, you parked next to my bike." Lia says, and I freeze.

"You ride the motorcycle? You're Steve Rodgers?" I ask, and she laughs.

"Yes, i ride the motorcycle, but no I'm not Steve Rodgers, I just love superheroes." Lia says, throwing her stuff in the backseat of the Impala, and getting in.

I hop in the driver's seat, and turn the key. As soon as the car kicks on, so does the radio, and "Livin' On A Prayer" blows our eardrums.

Lia gives a famous eye roll, which I see from the rearview mirror.

I smile to myself, and think. "She won't even last a week."
