Your world melted away with the drizzling rain. All that remained was him, Komaeda, drenched in rain and unconscious in your shivering arms. His cheeks were faintly flushed in fever. The florid coloring painted him like the deadly kiss of winter's pure cold and naturally roused panic inside of you. You could feel the heat of his pyrexia through his clothes. It was never good to be so warm! Granted, it was better than being corpsely cold, but that did not change the fact that Komaeda was in trouble. His frame was uncomfortably thin. You could feel the edges of his scapula against your arm and his shoulder fit too snugly in the palm of your hand. He was comparable to a skeleton, though living. Thank god for that.

"Komaeda?" Gently, you shook his limp body. His head lolled to the side. With eyes still closed and lips slightly parted, he showed no signs of waking up anytime soon. His body lacked a wound and looking over his rosy skin made you aware of just how pale he was. It looked as though death already stole his color. "Komaeda!" you beckoned more urgently with a rougher shake. He did not so much as stir. You huffed, furrowing your brow and you gently laid him back down on the muggy ground. His wet hair clung to the pavement like a halo, as if he had already become an angel. You began to fret over what you could do for him.

First, you obviously contemplated calling 911. They would be the most common solution for a predicament such as this, but Komaeda wasn't just any other guy. He was once a Despair. He was involved in many terroristic and violent acts and he was also amongst those who took the blame for The Final Killing Game. Sending him to any hospital would likely result in his imprisonment. Meanwhile, leaving him out here like this just was not an option either. You could take him to Hope's Peak Academy, but it was too late for that. The students and staff would have all gone home by now.

You glanced at Komaeda's resting face, motionless. You could still see the child you once knew in his nostalgic features and the boy you never got to properly see off. So much time passed since that unfortunate incident all those years ago, when Komaeda vanished from your life without a trace. Circumstance had kept the two of you apart ever since. Now, here he was, inches away from you and in danger. He needed you, finally. Alas, you just didn't know what you could do for him. You were not an Ultimate Nurse, nor really an Ultimate Anything. You were the Ultimate Good Luck. It was not a talent you could control or empower, nor one that could help you in a situation like this, unless your luck could somehow magically rouse Komaeda from his comatose state. You peeked towards him just in case. He was still locked away in unconsciousness, unfortunately, and you cursed yourself for getting your hopes up like that. Of course, he was still asleep.

"Komaeda!" you yelled, leaning over him. "Komaeda, wake up! Komaeda!" Not even your loudest cry could wake him and you gave up, seeing how fruitless your current methods were. It seemed as though you only had one option left.

Sighing, you took Komaeda's arm and wrapped it around your shoulder. You hesitated. 1... 2... You counted down in your head. 3! With a hefty huff, you sprung up and supported Komaeda's body with your own. You gasped and nearly tumbled over. He was far lighter than you thought he could possibly be! Holding him like this, you knew he was quite a few inches taller than you, yet it felt like he was 50 pounds lighter. He was more like an expensive mannequin than a person. Taking advantage of his petite load, you swept your hand under his knees and lugged him up into your arms in a position you assumed would be more comfortable for him.
