Chapter 4 - New Student

~2 Weeks Later~

(Y/N)'s POV

I was sitting in class when a girl with long dark green hair, dark green eyes and glasses entered the room. The teacher shushed the class and all of our eyes are locked on her

"This is your new classmate. Go ahead and introduce yourself." The teacher says. She bows down and does what the teacher told her to do

"H-Hello! I'm Lai Airi! Nice to meet you!" She says.

The teacher shows her seat, which was next to mine. She walks over and places her bag down. I shoot her a glance and a smile. She returns the gesture. ~After Class~

I pack my bag and look at Lai. She gets a book out of her bag and stands up to leave. I tap her shoulder and she turns to me.

"O-Oh.....hi!" She smiles. I smile back.

We walk and talk through the school and since it was break, we hung out for a while. She sat in a tree, reading, while I sat on the ground.

"I never caught your name!" Lai called down to me.

"(Y/N). (L/N) (Y/N)." I respond.

She climbs down and we walk to our next class.

~After School~

I decided to bring Lai to the gym and opened the door.

"Careful of getting hit in the face with a volleyball." I warn her. She nods slowly

We walk in and Lai looks around. Daichi walks up to us

"Hi (Y/N)!" He greets, I greet back.

Lai turns her gaze on Daichi and her eyes widen in surprise

"Dai~Dai!" She says and Daichi looks at her in shock.

"L-Lai?" He asks, and she nods. She jumps in his arms

"I thought I wouldn't see you ever again!" She said, hugging Daichi

"Okay....whaaaat?" I ask confused

Daichi pulls away from the hug and smiles "This is Lai, she's a childhood friend of mine." He explains

"My family and Daichi's family are really good friends. We used to play a lot as kids." Lai said

"But we soon got separated because Lai's father moved somewhere, so they followed." Daichi finished.

Lai smiles "Its been 10 years since that happened." Lai giggled.

I smile "You two are a really good couple."

Lai and Daichi blush "W-We aren't together..." She murmurs

"You two act like you are." Sugawara said, coming over and resting his arm on Daichi's shoulder. I laugh.

"Oh! How's your condition going?" Daichi asks. Lai's face turns pale slightly

"I-I haven't been able to uh....control it..." She mumbles.

"Condition?" Suga asks.

"Well, uh, Lai's diagnosed with uhm depression.." Daichi murmurs

Daichi sighed and changed the subject "So, Lai. Would it be okay if you would to stay and watch us practice?" Daichi offered

"Uh, sure, why not." She smiled

~After Practice~

I talked with Lai while walking home, she seemed to smile a lot when she talks about Daichi. I reaaaaaaaaally ship them. Once we reached her house she said bye and opened her door before closing it. I continued walking home and once I reached home, I flopped on my bed and sighed. Tired, I drifted to sleep

~Next Day~

It was a Saturday, I sighed and got up. Still in my pyjamas, I walked downstairs and got an apple. I turned on the TV and sat on the couch. Suddenly......I got a knock.

"Hm?" I question

I get up and throw my finished apple away before answering the door. I look....

"How.....what!?" I ask

Standing there was them volleyball team. Hinata waved

"Hi (Y/N)~Chan!" He chirped

"How did you find my house?" I ask.

"Hinata saw you walking home." Sugawara informed

Hinata sheepishly smiled. I sighed.

"So, why are you here?" I ask.

"We're hanging out and we thought we'll invite you." Daichi explained.

"So, you coming?" Yamaguchi asked

I shrugged

"Sure."

"Yaaay!" Hinata chimed.

I invited them in while I changed. It was warm and sunny outside so I got some shorts, a (F/C) t-shirt, (F/C) converse and brushed my hair. I walked downstairs

"Are we going?" I ask.

Daichi smiles

"We're picking up one more person." He says.

I nod and head out with them. I soon realise, this is the direction of Lai's house

"Are we going to Lai's house?" I ask, Daichi nods.

We reach there

"OHHH SUGOI! Her house is so nice!!" Hinata beamed.

Lai's house was a nice gardened house, which was painted white. There were vines hanging and beautiful flowers. I nod in agreement. Daichi knocks on the door and Lai greets him. She walks out and locks the door. She smiled and waved at us.

"Lai~Chan! Your house is so nice!" Hinata beamed

She chuckled and rubbed the back of her neck

"I-It's nothing. Its just a house." She smiled.

We walked around and bought some ice-cream, I bought (F/IC/F) (Favourite Ice Cream Flavour). We finished our ice-cream and went to a park. There was a playground with nobody there. I ran to the swings with Lai and we sat there for awhile. Lai was a tad bit short to push herself, the tips of her shoes only touched the ground. Suddenly, Daichi came behind her swing and pushed it.

"E-Eh!?" Lai squeaked, as her swing and her were pushed forward

Daichi laughed and Lai blushed, looking behind her. I whined

"Someone push meeeeeee!"

Suddenly, I was pushed forward as well. I looked behind me to see...
