"WHAT!?" She yells and I throw my hand over her mouth.
"SHHH!" I say. "Chill out. I have to be incognito if you want to shop for more than a half hour today." I warn her.
"Well you can't just say something like that!" She whisper shouts at me.
"I told him I wasn't planning on getting married for another 3 years." I explain.
"And he was cool with that?" She asks, picking a shirt off the rack and walking over to another display. I followed her.
"Yeah." I shrugged.
"That's so weird! You're already like... pre-engaged!" She said and I shush her again.
"Sasha! People know who I am and whom I'm dating! You can't say this stuff out loud!" I freak out looking around the store making sure nobody was staring. We seemed to be safe. "Let's just drop the subject." I say after checking that the coast is clear. Sasha pouts but nods her head.
"We will save it for the car." She says and I notice she puts a shirt back on the rack.
"I thought that was cute!" I say and she sighs.
"Me too, but it's 110 bucks." She laughs.
"Sasha, I missed your birthday. You get whatever you want." I say and her eyes light up.
"I can't just take your money!" She protests and I give her a look. A smile suddenly creeps to her face and she hugs me. "I'm not going to lie, I love
your new lifestyle!" She says and I laugh.
"Yeah, I guess some of the perks are nice. It's the actually doing my job part that scares the crap out of me." I confess and she clicks her tongue at me.
"Girl after all times you performed at the on campus coffee shop for a little extra cash you cant tell me that you have stage fright." She said.
"Don't get sassy! That was for 10 people at the most. This is for a couple thousand a night. Not to mention live television." I explained to her and she
still rolled her eyes at me.
"I saw you on the tv. You were amazing." She explained.
"Harry was on stage because I was afraid if I went out there alone I would have frozen up and the noises that would've come out of my mouth wouldn't have been human." I say and she laughs out loud.
"That's my best friend!" She smiles. "Alright, I've got like, 16 things. Let's go try stuff on?" She asks and I nod as she leads the way to the dressing room. I picked up a few things here and there, but no matter what I wear I never get to actually wear it. People usually dress me when I go out in public so there's really no point. Today was a lucky day for me. I got to pick out something I actually wanted to wear. We got to the dressing room and there was a guy standing in the corner putting clothes back on hangers who looked up when he saw us. Instantly our eyes connected. I recognized him immediately.
"Remington?" He asked and I shook myself out of my trance.
"Sal?" I said, questioning whether or not he was actually there. I haven't seen him since the day he released my single to the radio station. I hated him for a really, really long time after that. Now, I think about it and I kind of owe him one. My life would be completely different if it wasn't for him.
"What are you doing at Topshop?" I ask, really surprised to have seen him.
"I can't really get work in the music industry anymore. After Simon Cowell fires you..." He trails off, looking into space.
