2| Friends can break your heart too

Start from the beginning

Nobody said anything during our ride to school until I decided to interrupt the silence.

"Who is going to take care of Sky today?" I asked. Steven turned around and looked at me then quickly turned back looking forward.

"Dad is staying today with her but tomorrow she will be with Mrs. Morrow" he answered. She is our neighbor.

I mouthed an 'o' then the silence between us returned. I put my headphones in my ears and started my playlist.

Then I started thinking, if dad is staying at home then Mr. Collins, Blakes' father, is going to work more. Mr. Collins and my dad work together, they share the same company. I actually like it, because they are the reason why Blake and I are now actually best friends. We were friends since we were babies. That's the reason why my dad didn't mind him sleeping with me. With sleeping I mean just sleeping.

"We're here" Blake finally said and parked his car in the school parking spot.

"Finally" I sighed and left the car. First three periods Blake and I are together. But Steven has his own buddies to stay with, in some other class. I didn't actually mind him hanging out with other guys than us. Since he has his own friends and I have mine too, so it's okay.

"Well bye guys. See ya' " Steven waved at us walking away. We waved back and started walking slowly. As we were walking, I felt a lot of gazes on me, which I didn't enjoy.

It's just making me feel uncomfortable.

"Just ignore them. You don't have to explain what happened if you don't feel like it" Blake spoke.

"Uhm yeah" I answered back unsure of what to say, not knowing how he understood.

Blake suddenly stopped making me stop as well when he grabbed my arm.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Uhm, yeah I think so" I looked down.

"Look, if you're not ready you don't have to go" he said lifting my chin up so look him in the eyes. I looked at him and knew that if I don't go I won't be strong enough to help my father, my twin and sister. I won't feel normal again. I gave him a confident smile, tip toeing so I can grab his face.

"I'm 100% sure" I said and hugged him quickly. We let go and he smiled back proudly.

"That's my best friend" he said. We entered and saw my friends sitting all together all the way back in the class. It was nice to see them again. We kept walking towards them and then Blake stopped and gave his friends a bro hug and I kept on walking towards my friends. They noticed me and started smiling, Victoria, one of my friends, got up and opened her arms welcoming me so I can hug her.

"Briana! I missed you" She hugged me tightly.

"I' missed you too" I smiled at her letting her go.

"I'm sorry for your loss again" Victoria smiled sadly. Everyone we knew, showed up at my moms' funeral, even Steven and I's friends. The funeral was the second hardest thing I experienced, my mother, the memories, happiness, laughter and smiles were buried with her in that place.

"Hey there beautiful. We all missed you" Joe, one of my friends, said and got up opening his arms asking for a hug. I smiled and gave him a quick hug.
