Chapter five

The last couple of days has been busy for my
entire department, it seemed that lecturers had
a meeting to punish us with test and

assignments; we were having more tests than
medical students which was really really bad; that meant sleepless nights, headaches,

hangovers you name it. But it also gave me time to forget about Akin and his gang of ladies; I still didn't want to agree with myself that I was jealous since I didn't have any reason to be

Today at school was horrible; I left my

apartment early enough but still got to school
so late I missed a class; the queue at the bus

stop was longer than I've ever seen it and more
alarming was how early it was. 6:36am which

was so unusual, that would only mean that

there was a GNS test and I wasn't aware of and
I didn't prepare. I decided not to confirm my

findings from anyone, all I wanted was to get to
school but the thought of having a test that I didn't prepare for made me uneasy.

As usual the bus park was full of students and no buses were available, I was lucky to flag down a good Samaritan who offered me a ride to school. I got to class a realized there was no tests, the Student union had called a meeting promising to feed the first 500, I couldn't believe undergraduates could fall for such cheap tricks, the class room was scanty which meant majority of my colleagues were holed up
in one tight auditorium.

"Nike " I recognized the voice as Akin's but I

didn't want to respond so I didn't look back. He

continued calling my name and moving closer,

he moved so close I could feel his breath on my

neck.

"if I tap you now, you will slap me" he joked,

but I didn't find it funny, he spun me around

and took some steps back, pretending to dodge a slap, it made me chuckle but I formed a frown almost immediately

"she's mad at me" he winked and started tickling me

"leave me alone, you left me all these days " I couldn't believe my ears as those words left my lips

"my baby am sorry, you know we've been cramped with tests through out this week, amsorry " he looked so cute apologizing ,I couldn't
help but smile

"you have to bribe me to forgive you " I said

" I have a surprise for you " he said it with a

huge smile on his face; he held my hand and walked me out of the class, I felt shy because I felt eyes on my like they were looking through

my cloths. We strolled towards the faculty car

park, I noticed Akin fiddle through his pocket

"let's go to the mall" he reduced our pace, I noticed him eyeing me with the corner of his eye

"what are you up to? " I asked; suspiciously. He
let go of my hand and walked to a black Toyota car, opened the door for me to get inside, I was still shocked because Akin didn't look like the campus guy who owned a car, he got in andremained silent carrying a bigger smile on his
face

"who's car is this? " my question made him

laugh so hard he seemed uncontrollable "why
did you ask? " he replied, still laughing

"just answer me" I said, pinching him hard

enough, he made a sound like a yelp.

"OK stop please, it's my car" I let go, he put on
the car and drove out of the parking lot. The

trip to the mall was awesome, me made jokes,
teased each other, It made me so happy. I

wished we didn't have to stop at the mall. At

the mall he made me shop "no limits" as he

emphasized

He drove me home. "thank you for today
Akin "

"I hope I was able to bribe you well" he said and winked "the bribe would be complete if you agree to
drive me to school everyday"

"who else would I drive to you except you? " I
could feel he felt uneasy

"what's the matter akin " he's weight shifted

as I asked

"would you be my girlfriend? " the question hit
me harder than a moving train! Akin Odeseyi

just asked me out and my mind and brain and
heart all had the same reply "yes" I screamed!
"won't you think about it? " he asked, looking
confused

"there is nothing to think about Akin" We

kissed, and cuddled up till we slept off.

The two love birds weren't aware that their

decision would affect their lives and destroy their families
