"I'll try not to"
"That's all I want to hear" I said.
"What if getting injured is the only way to get your attention"
"You always have my attention" I told him.
"I don't like the distance"
I ducked under the water and washed the shampoo from my hair. Once my hair had no shampoo I looked at him and lightly touched his cheek. He looked at me and offered me a small smile.
"School keeps me in LA" I began telling him.
He nodded slowly.
"When I finish school we can talk about this. I would not mind moving to Toronto with you" I told him.
He smiled.
"You wouldn't?"
"I mean I doubt the Leafs would be stupid enough to trade you" I said.
"What about your career? I don't want you putting it on hold for me"
I laughed.
"Who says I would? Hopefully I can get a visa to work in Canada" I explained.
I reached for the body wash.
"How long is your Masters program?"
"I've got about a year and a half left" I replied.
He nodded.
"Ok, I can wait that long"
I smiled.
"We'll make it work" I assured him.
I began to wash my body and watched as he reached for the body wash.
"I love you"
"I love you too" I told him.
He smiled and frowned when we both heard the doorbell ringing. My phone started ringing a few seconds later, and he groaned as I reached for a towel once I had no soap on me.
"Ignore it"
"It's my mom" I said.
I wrapped the towel around my body and got out of the shower. I wiped my hands and reached for my phone.
"Hello" I greeted.
"Mariana, I'm at your condo"
"I figured, I'm getting dressed right now so I'll be down in a second" I told her.
"Ok, hurry"
I ended the call and sighed.
"Can you call George and tell him to come over?" I asked Will.
He nodded.
"Yeah, just let me finish showering"
He reached for my hand.
"What's wrong?"
"I love you and I know you love what you do but please do not tell my mom you play in the NHL" I replied.
"Why?"
"Let her figure it out" I told him.
"Alright, go change"
He leaned forward and I met him halfway. I gave him a quick kiss before rushing out of the bathroom. I nearly tripped over Babe who was curled up in front of the door. I quickly closed the door to my room and changed into an outfit that my mom was probably going to hate. I dried my hair and ran a comb through it before going downstairs. I opened the door and smiled at my mom.
"You could have warned me that you were coming" I stated.
"You know me darling, I like showing up unannouced"
I nodded.
"Come on in" I told her.
I stepped back and let her in. I shushed Babe who growled from the stairs and decided to go up to the rooms.
"Where's your boyfriend?"
"He's showering" I replied.
She hummed lightly and looked at me.
"Were you showering with him?"
"No, he literally just got into the shower when you called" I lied smoothly.
She nodded slowly and took a seat.
"Well your father certainly had good things to say about him"
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Yeah, he told me your boyfriend is Swedish"
"What else did he tell you?" I asked.
"He told me you met him in Toronto"
I nodded.
"So is he a businessman or something?"
I smiled.
"I'll let Will tell you himself" I said.
"Will, that's his name?"
"His name is William" I clarified.
She nodded.
"Well I am excited to meet William. I called your brother, but he didn't answer"
George usually dropped what he was doing to talk with mom.
"He sent me a text a minute later saying he was with Jo. Who's Jo?"
"Jordyn" I replied.
She frowned and hummed. Mom liked having both her children with her when we saw her, she said it was because liked to know what both of us were doing.
A/N: Looks like Will is meeting Mariana's mom.
