Chapter 2
After about five minutes of jogging, my phone buzzes. I think I nearly squealed because it had scared me. I grab my phone out of my pocket and look at the screen, Julio texted me. I open the text and it reads, How is your summer so far, weirdo?
I hurriedly reply with a, Well I'm just jogging at the moment. Gotta get my exercise. What about yours, kinky skank?
I continue jogging, waiting for either him to reply, or for my jog to be over. I pass all the houses in the neighborhood and smile at any neighbor in sight. Sure, I'll be rude to bitches at school, but not my neighbors. I continue jogging.
20 minutes later
I finish up my jog, and look at my phone as I turn off my music. Julio didn't reply, what a slow ass, but he's my best friend, can't ever get mad at him. I walk the rest of the way to my house, and I see a car parked on the street next to our lawn. Hm. I've seen the car before. I walk to the steps before I walk into my house. The door is locked, so I pound on the door. I hear Josh say, "Um who is it?" "IT'S ME, OPEN THE DOOR!" I say as I continue pounding the door.
I hear the snap of the lock being unlocked. I open the door and walk in while shutting it behind me. I talk directly to Josh and I ask, "Why the hell did you lock the door?" As I walk partial way to the staircase, and I happen to look into the living room, I see something. Josh and his boyfriend are cuddling on the couch watching a movie. They both look at me and Josh replies, "Sorry. I forgot you were out jogging." Him and his boyfriend are giving me that kind of look they do, with their pouty lips and big eyes, just so I'll forgive them. I kiddingly glare at them and say in a voice, "And why do I have to be the single one?" I smile at them and quickly say, "Have fun you two," as I begin to run upstairs.
I dash into my room and shut my door behind me. I take out my bun and I quickly switch from my jogging clothes into basketball shorts and a gray-silver tanktop. I pull out my notebook and I begin writing a list of things I need. I write down hair dye, new makeup, haircut, new wardrobe, get some sun, and contacts. I had no clue how I was going to afford this. Sure, maybe a cheap haircut and like a new eyeliner, but that's it. I don't know. I'll tell Julio and see what he thinks. He's got more money than I will ever get. I pick up my cell phone and go to my messages. It says he read my message. "Gaw, turd." I whisper under my breath, but can't help to smile. I start typing and send to him,
"Get your behind over here, I've got something to show you!"
