It was finally Monday. I walked into the school with only one thing on my mind. Josh. He hadn't texted me this week, which didn't bother me. He didn't need to. But something was off. I walked straight over to his locker where many more sticky notes were already stuck to the front of it. I didn't want him to see them. I opened up my backpack and grabbed my binders for the first hour. I looked around for him, wondering when he would get to school. The bell eventually rang which forced me to leave to go to my first class. He most likely had gotten here before I was able to. He did play in the band, the only class that I had seen him in, so I would be able to see him last hour. The classes felt agonizingly long and I kept on looking at the clock every couple minutes which didn't help until finally, I had band. I quickly got my instrument and music and sat down in my spot.
"Is anybody absent?" the band director asked. I turned around looking around to see if he was here.
"Josh isn't here. Something happened in the family I think," someone said. What happened with Josh?
