Ashiya's PoV:

After I was done eating, Khala told me that she had to visit someone in the neighborhood for some work. As she left, I realised that I had nothing to do in the house so I decided to take a nap.

The guest room was warm and cozy with lilac coloured walls and a queen sized bed placed in the middle. A table lay beside it with a jug of water and a glass. The window was small with blue curtains.

As soon as I laid on the soft mattress of the bed, my eyes began to feel heavy and in a minute or two I drifted off to sleep.

Ahan's PoV:

I cursed myself as I made my way inside the house in a hurry. How could I be so irresponsible? I wondered. I refused to accept my clumsiness but I knew I had to. Today was supposed to be an important day since I had a meeting with one of our VIPs. But me being a dumbass forgot to take an important file to the office. Thankfully the meeting got delayed so I rushed back home in order to fetch the file.

I entered the hall and called out for Mom only to receive silence in answer. I called out again and still no response. Sighing, I walked upstairs towards my room and on my way I noticed something unusual. I could hear the fan running from inside the guest room which was weird because I remember perfectly well that till this morning we had received no guest in our house. So who could it be?

Curious, I turned the knob and entered inside to find a figure lying on the bed. His body was completely covered under the blanket. I walked ahead to get a closer look and saw the man. No, not a man. It was a woman.

Her head was covered with only her face peeking out. Her skin was a shade of golden brown, eyes closed and lips parted. I wondered if I had seen her somewhere. She seemed a little familiar. Oh! Is she…?

Before I could ask myself any question, I realised that I was being stared at by the woman lying on the bed. Her eyes were big. She looked at me for a good two seconds and then…

"Jinnaaat!" My eardrums nearly exploded at the high pitched voice. "Ya Allah there's a jinnaat in this house! Ya Rabb help me please!" I literally had to run outside as I feared that she could attack me any second and I clearly didn't want to get beaten up inside my own house. Ya Allah! Save me.

If yelling was not enough, that girl had the audacity to faint after looking at me. I paced around the hall, failing to understand how could someone call me a jinnaat. Did I really look like one?

"Relax, she's just too innocent," Mom tried to calm me down. Innocent? I clearly didn't think so.

"How long is she going to stay here? I hope it's not for long."

"Ahan," Mom sounded stern, "don't talk like that. Don't you remember how you guys used to play together when you were kids? What has happened to you now?"

That was not true. Ashiya never used to play with me but my brothers. We were never friends. We were just too different from each other since the beginning that we could never bond over anything. And then we grew up and didn't see each other until now.

"I'm sorry if that sounded wrong but I just don't get good vibes from her," I confessed. I was being honest.

Mom shook her head. "She's my best friend's daughter and our guest for the next few weeks. You have to be welcoming towards her and make sure that she's comfortable here." I wanted to say no but I couldn't refuse Mom. Not for this, not for anything.

"Fine," I breathed, "but I don't want her to create havoc in our daily lives. Tell her to behave properly in this house."

I knew I was being a little rude but I couldn't do anything else. She seemed like a big troublemaker, just like she was when we were kids. I just hope she doesn't mess with me.
