Upon Bart's suggestion, you went outside to stroll a little. The weather was nice and pleasant, and no wind blew. So, there was no need for a suffocating number of layers of clothing. Jeans and a hoodie were enough to keep you cozy.

As you two walked and discussed, you reflected about your companion's reality, and a thought suddenly crossed your mind.

"Just how fast can you run?"

"Huh?" Bart glanced over at you, obviously caught off-guard by this unexpected question.

"I said, how fast can you run?" You came to a halt, wanting to take a better look at him as he answered.

He stopped a little ahead of you and turned back toward you. Scratching the back of his neck, he uncertainly replied, "It's actually a little hard to tell since y'know... It depends on a few factors."

You shrugged carelessly. "Meh, doesn't matter. Just show me."

"You wouldn't be able to see me."

You threw your hands into the air exasperatedly. "Then carry me or something, I dunno!"

As you approached him, seeming uneasy, Bart confessed, "This doesn't seem too safe (Y/N)..."

"Nonsense!" However, seeing that this wasn't going anywhere, you decided to employ a different tactic.

Smirking, you set your hands on your hips and mocked, "Oh, or are you too weak to carry such a small load?"

That hit a nerve.

Next thing you knew, you were in strong, firm arms and zooming at what felt like a zillion kilometres per hour. The feeling of the world zipping past you at such a rate was ecstatic, making you scream in excitement.

Your eyes then strayed from your blurred-out surroundings to Bart. He was quiet, determination and concentration etched across his face as he stubbornly looked forward. You couldn't help but notice how handsome this seriousness made him look.

Afterwards, you followed his gaze, when suddenly you started feeling dizzy. Your head was spinning, and thoughts bunched up to create chaos within your mind.

Before you could even process what was happening, you felt your head loll back against Bart's arm, and your vision slowly faded away. You heard your name being called out and then, you gave in to the comforting blackness.

Someone shaking your shoulder frantically. A voice, desperately repeating a single phrase over and over. It took you a few moments to piece together the words that were being called out.

"(Y/N)!... Wake up, (Y/N)! (Y/N)!!"

Through the distant-like feeling that had enveloped your mind, you recognized your name. Realizing that something was surely wrong, you fought against the darkness within your mind and managed to surface to consciousness.

Slowly opening your eyes, you groaned quietly, earning a gasp from whom you acknowledged was Bart.

"(Y/N)! You're all right!" He quickly helped you sit up before kneeling, getting his face level with yours. Only then did you notice the overwhelming worry he bore. "How are you feeling?"

"Fine," you replied, frowning slightly. "Just have a headache."

Your companion sighed heavily in relief. "Good... I thought you were dead!

You couldn't help but giggle at this. "I wasn't dead, Bart. I just lost consciousness."

"B-But what if you really were dead? What if you had gotten hurt?" Bart pouted, looking away shamefully. "I even knew it wasn't a good idea, my programming told me and-"

"Bart." He whipped his head back toward you, to see your small, comforting smile. "I'm all right. There wasn't anything dangerous about this. I just blacked out, probably because of the excitement or something." You huffed quietly, giving him a meaningful look. "You'll have to learn to think for yourself, Bart. You can't let your programming decide everything for you. You..." You paused, searching for the right words. "You have to formulate your own opinion."

As you got up, you beckoned for him to follow suit. "Plus, if something bad had happened, you would've been there to make sure I was okay anyway. You would've brought me to the hospital or something. No life-threatening danger."

"Does..." He furrowed a brow, thinking hard. "Does that mean that as long as I'm with you, anything we do is safe?"

You let out a few laughs, grinning widely in amusement. "Not always, but it definitely makes it safer ."
