An Idea of the Ideal Relationship Told Through Celebrations and the Neighbourhood Foxes

'You like Celebrations?
I do.
Which do you like?
Snickers, Bounty, Maltesers and Twix.
Me too.'
And love blooms.

We get three boxes a year,
Birthdays and the anniversary,
But there's always
forty or so pieces left wrapped,
Just for the foxes,
And with the others, well
it feels like there is never enough
to share between us,
Always an odd number
of those damn Twix,
Even though they come in pairs.
How ironic.
We never figured how to share.

One year there's only one box,
My birthday,
A party,
A stranger.

'You like Heroes?
No, I prefer Celebrations, you?
Oh. Me too. Which do you like?
Mars, Milky Way and the Caramel Galaxy.
Not Snickers or Twix or Maltesers or Bounty?
No, I hate those all equally.'

And,
Well,
At least this generation of foxes
are no longer diabetic.
