Chapter 13:: Lost

Start from the beginning

“Crack! Rumble rumble” was the only response I received. Despite myself I pushed my legs onward though all I wanted was to lie down and cry.

The rain continued to fall just as I felt myself reaching the end of my endurance. Just when I thought I was done the first of the tree came into my view calming my nerves almost instantly. The trees are a place of warmth and safety that have no measure and will serve my purpose nicely. Smiling I made my way to the tree line as fast as my frozen limbs would carry me. ‘Perhaps there is one with an open trunk I can use to get out of the rain’ I thought as I made my way into the embrace of the wood. Looking from left to right I began searching for a suitable place to seek refuge from the storm all the while scenes of another time playing before my eyes. Instead of the dark wood that surrounded me now I was in a bright green forest with birds singing in the trees. I felt as though at this time I was looking for something, but what it was I had no idea.

“Hey….over here!” called a small voice “Come on Swester we have to hide before Larence finishes counting”. It was soft. Close to a whisper. To soft discern whom it could belong too, but it sounded young. I’m sure it belonged to the same girl I see in my dreams but who’s Larence? And what’s a swester? “Remember we can’t hide to hard or little bruder will get upset I’ll go see what I can find you keep looking over here ok?”  As silly as it sounds I did as the voice said I mean I had to find a tree anyway right? Why not play along?

I continued looking for a suitable tree until I heard the voice again “Hey over here! I found one!”  Looking around I was not surprised to see no one around. I am getting used to these ‘memory spells’. They happen so often now I am sad to say I have become accustom to these shifts in reality. ‘What is wrong with me?’ I asked myself as I began inspecting a tree to see if it was suitable to stay in for the night. “Not there silly~” It teased with a giggle “I’m over here~”. Following the voice I went deeper into the wood until I came to a large oak tree with a large opening similar to a cove cut into it, but it was completely natural. ‘How odd’ I thought as I climbed into the a cove.

“Big swestewes weady or not hewe I come! You bettew not have cwimbed a twee again!” called the voice of a small boy

“Hurry up Swester before he sees us!” urged the other voice. With a slight smile I   removed my bag from my back and took a quick look to ensure no spiders, bugs, or other animals were inhabiting the space. ‘I guess I know who the little boy I saw when I looked at Raf is now’.

Getting off the Nemesis was surprisingly simple. The Vehicons are far more simple minded than I previously anticipated. I snuck past them with little to no difficulty at all despite my size and activated a ground bridge without being noticed. I was rather pleased with my success but I did not let my helm grow any from the small victory I had a job yet to do. I have to find the youngling and possibly get her back from the Autobots. I pray it does not come to that I am unsure of whether or not I am capable of beating them alone. However I am sure I can out smart them if it came down to it.

Transforming into my vehicle form I began the long drive to Annabeth’s school or at least where this strange earth device called ‘Google maps’ says it is. As for if this information is actually accurate I do not know. Primus help me if it isn’t I have no idea what any of these signs mean. Aside from the octagon shaped ones that have actual directions on them those are most helpful.

“weewhoo weewhoo” sounded a vehicle that surprisingly reminded me of Prowl.

“Pull over!” called a voice from within the vehicle. Doing as it asked I pulled over to the side of the road and a human clad in a blue uniform opened the driver side door and got out with a note book in his hand and walked up and knocked on my window. I rolled down the window as the human began writing.

“Is there a problem?” I asked unsure of what I had done wrong.

“You were speeding” answered the officer curtly without looking up “license and registration please?”

“Uh…what?” I asked thoroughly confused.

“License and registration.” He repeated irritation dripping from his tongue.

“I understand but what are those?” I asked

“You must be kidding me!” he scoffed looking up his voice quickly dying in his throat after looking into the cab of my vehicle form. “Haha very funny now where are ya! Ya little punk?!”

“I’m sorry but what?” I asked even more confused as the man seemed to pale and back away laughing nervously.

“Right sorry to bother you. Have a good day sir” he said retreating to his vehicle and driving away.

“What a strange human” I thought as I began to drive again and the rain set in.
