Quite unlike what you would've done in his place, he didn't even question the virus' safety, or anything at all, really. Instead, he excitedly exclaimed, "Totally crash! Can you install it right away?"

"Sure can." You shrugged, crossing your arms. "Just have to find that black box and-"

Your brain merely processed a blur before you found yourself holding the desired object, which Bart had, you guessed, fetched and given to you within a second. "You mean my case?"

"Uhhh, yeah." You stuck the memory stick containing your virus into the port and advised, "You might feel a bit weird. But..." You gave him an odd look. "Why your case?"

"Because, when we Impulses are deactivated, we stay in that box. They're meant to be used as cases since they allow you to bring us anywhere." He, without any warning, let out a small hiss, his face twisting into a grimace. "I... I feel it. It doesn't hurt, but it's... Really weird..."

"You'll feel like this for about two minutes. It's best if you sit down and-"

"No." Bart's suddenly-harsh tone made you flinch. As he turned toward you, you were even more shocked upon seeing the way he was glaring at you. "No way am I just gonna sit around doing nothing ."

At first you gawked at him, unable to take in his unexpected change. But... Oh, right. The virus. It was already taking effect... Huh. Must mean it was working, and very effective.

Now understanding the situation, you decided not to say anything and simply stood, arms crossed, watching, in case something went wrong. Bart had gone uncharacteristically quiet, but you didn't bother worrying. He was surely just letting his new, odd feelings sink in...

About two minutes later, finally, he spoke up. "It's finished."

Smiling in satisfaction, you went over and unplugged your memory stick from his case. "Good. How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling..." Bart looked up from his fingers, which he had been observing with a new-found, keen interest, and over at you. "Neutral. It's like I'm not feeling any emotions at all."

"This means the virus successfully rebooted your emotional status." Upon seeing his alarmed expression, you hastily added, "Don't worry, you'll be feeling emotions again in no time, just a matter of seconds. Now, how about we cook breakfast?"

"Breakfast!?" Bart's eyes lightened up instantly at these words. You couldn't help but giggle, recognizing your bubbly Impulse. "I'm on it!!" He eagerly sped over to the oven, coming to a halt before it and looking at it expectantly.

You watched him, waiting for him to start. Yet, to your confusion, he never did so.

Finally, about a minute later, he turned toward you. His expression was one of helplessness. "Umm... (Y/N)? I... How do you cook?"

It took you a few moments to realize; he had no hands-on experience. Rather than giving in to your shock, you smirked, resting your hands on your hips. You playfully mocked, "Oh? The almighty descendant of Barry Allen doesn't know how to cook ?"

"Hey!" An offended look washed over his face. Finally, he was being something other than happy , giving off more interesting reactions than his usual obliviousness. "I'll have you know that I know everything !"

"Yeah, right," you snorted, "says the guy that can't cook."

"I..." He was quiet for a few moments before ultimately, a pout.

Deciding you had had your fair share of fun, you let the teasing drop and walked over. "Don't make that face, I was just joking. Come on, I'll show you how."

Bart dragged himself over to join you. He mumbled bitterly, "I... Feel like I've failed. I feel an unpleasant sensation in my chest..."

Starting up the oven, you advised, "That emotion is disappointment, Bart. You feel disappointed because you aren't as good -in fact, incapable- at cooking as you thought you'd be. But, cheer up! You're going to get some food!" You really did want him to lighten up though. Although you were glad he now possessed a variety of emotions, you still preferred when he was happy, his usual self that you had grown accustomed to.

Therefore, you were relieved when he straightened up with a grin. "That's right! Food is so crash!!"

For the rest of the day, Bart went through what could be compared to mood swings. Their briefness could make someone believe he wasn't taking his emotions seriously, but you knew better. They were so short-lived, and he always went back to being happy, since smiling and laughing was just part of his personality.

He experienced all emotions but one.

One that he'd soon encounter within the next few days...
