mask

My mask is a protection
Against  all threats,
ALL THREATS
And not all of them weapons
Althoughs words sharper than dahomey daggers

Do harm, they hold no power to contest against the might of my masks charm

A black mask, mahogany wood its mother
Embued with magic by the candomble negras

Chicken skeletons,
guinea eyes,
foot of monkey
a hive of flies,

The spell that created this mask

Against my woes of the world

The only armor I have ..

My mask
