The elder continued talking and the people listened quietly and without sound. Aaron's speech growing in volume and excitement as he went into a long story about how many moons and suns it had been since they had found a brother or sister.
In the midst of it, Dimitri turned to look at Arnett, who was standing beside him, arms behind her back, and saw that she had a very stern expression on her face, like a bodyguard. which to him had become the norm only this time she was directing it at the crowd, scanning the waves of people silently and inconspicuously, the only give away being the even motion of her eyes sweeping over the area.
"Now, I get the feeling that we've wasted a lot of time with my long rambling speech, but what do ye citizens say? I say it is time to begin the festivities! Dimitri, our new brother, will celebrate with us. I hope you all make time to properly introduce yourselves!" Aaron said as he rose his hands into the air and then directed them at Dimitri with a performer like smile.
Of course, as soon as Aaron dismissed them, the crowd erupted in cheers and scrambled away to the main area where the fire waited along with the food and drinks. After all, humans have always had the urge to party, it makes sense that even in this world, they would take any opportunity to run wild. It was a human thing.
"Greetings traveler." A deep voice rang in his ears which instantly grabbed his attention. The source, a large man easily six feet tall with a body Dimitri felt could crush his own like a twig.
Ignoring this fact Dimitri replied with a smile.
. "Greetings stranger, thank you for welcoming me into your village with such open arms."
"O-course traveler! Allow me to introduce ma-self. The name's Bernard! I lead the towns defense force, Raging Braxus! From what the elder said you must have mighty interesting stories! You seem a bit young though...Couldn't be any more than 7'000 moons old! I myself am 15,695 moons old! I've been around a while ya know? Anyways, tell me some stories lad, but let's grab a swig while we are at it. Good stories and some Berudka! No finer combination!"
Bernard laughed, his beard bobbing as he swung his arm around Dimitri's shoulder, a large weight suddenly on him and without much of a choice he was dragged into the center of the festivities where everyone was laughing and chatting. But as he arrived a strong silence swept over the scene as they all turned to face him. A series of stares burning into Dimitri's skin causing him to feel itchy and uncomfortable.
As they silently stared Dimitri noted that not only did the villagers seem like the type of people who were so kind as to help a friend in need at any time, but they also seemed like the type of people who would kill any enemy or perceived threat at the drop of a hat. A dangerous combination when taking into account how fragile his current position was.
"Ay all-o you! Quit your gawking! If you have nothing to say to the traveler, then continue your festivities! He's probably more nervous then you lot right now anyways! Carry on then!
Still latched to Bernard, Dimitri turned his head toward the source of the new voice, finding a person breaking through the crowd with her buxom figure. A female who looked to be in her early thirties approached him, her hips swinging as she walked, a confident and powerful stride that was complimented by her indominable aura.
"Bernard, you need to not latch so tightly to em. You might break the man! "said the women, acting as if she watched over Bernard on a daily basis, before turning and addressing Dimitri himself. "Well met traveler! I believe your name was Dimitri? It's a pleasure to meet ye, been a while since we experienced something worth celebrating about."
