The stage felt like a uninhabited expanse as I stood there, alone, trying to keep my knees from collapsing. The light fell onto my face as I tried concentrating at what the enfeebled woman was saying to me. "Are you ready to go?" The wrinkles that crinkled around her mouth seemed that they were deeply caved into her face as she moved it to speak.

"Uh-yeah, I'm ready."  My eyes scanned the crowd looking for the warm reassurance I needed to perform sufficiently. Liam was seated in the first row with his grin from eye to eye, he seemed like a proud mother watching his child grow from an infant to an adult.

The wheels in my brain started to grind against each other as electricity flowed through my head, cuing the neurons to fire that helped me remember I needed to pull myself together.

I felt like I was doing pretty well. Rehearsing definitely came in handy as I spoke the words perfectly. My eyes would dart back and fourth to each figure as I examined the judges to see if I could detect how they felt about me.  It was like reading a blank paper. There was absolutely no facial expressions from them. It was like trying to decipher a code that had no key to guide you.

"Thank you, you can exit the stage that way."

Wait, it was over already? I hadn't even noticed, as expected. "Thank you!" My hand waved back and forth, repeating the actions over and over as I made my way off stage.

My thoughts were officially jumbled. A mixture of "Did I do well?, Did they like me?, How did Liam think I did?" Consumed my thoughts as my shoulder hit a hard, broad, unfamiliar frame. I hadn't even noticed where I was going when I had ran right into a strange man.

"Oh my, I-I'm so sorry.." My eyes rolled up and down examining the tall shadow towering over me. I don't know what was more harmful, the beautiful color of his emerald eyes or the way they were piercing into me. He looked around 6' foot tall, and his brunette colored hair swept back from his widows peak into the jungle of mane that consumed his head. He was wearing an olive green shirt, the buttons undone so his chest peaked through and the black ink imprinted on him showed. his Ray bands dangled from the bottom of his buttoned shirt in a fashion that I had never seen before.

"Watch where you're fucking going." His voice was stern and harsh, and snapped me out of my trance, only to realize he was being a complete douche.

"Excuse me?" My brows creased as I started to feel angry. Who does he think he is?

"Watch where you're going," he said again, harsher than the first time, leaving more of an impact. He had repeated his words as though I hadn't heard him, when I most certainly had. I was done with him already. He was not about to ruin my moment of hopeful happiness.

"Okay, whatever you say buddy." Just be the bigger person my inner thoughts were telling me. I started marching away as I felt a strong grip on my arm. My reflexes yanked my forearm from his constraint.

"I'm always watching you Jessica, don't forget that." A smirk began to rise from his lips. A quiver escaped my body as I felt a strike of panic run through me.
