Important Note

Hello everyone, I hope you've read the chapter just updated titled "Security and Assurance - Key to Survival"....if not please do read it...

However, now for the important note, a few points here are for the fellow writers and few for the readers. I am not a preacher, just a reader and a writer on this platform.

Dear Writers and Readers, I get really disappointed when I find good stories getting discontinued owing to the lack of encouragement or response. Readers, please understand that a lot of effort goes into writing just one chapter and when the response is not received, the writer is bound feel disappointed. Please do not do that, now when the writer announces that she would be discontinuing suddenly you all join forces and ask her not to take that step but my point is why should we push someone to even think of the extremes. A vote, a small comment, I can tell you with experience that it brings with it a great feeling of contentment and the bliss that your work is being appreciated cannot be defined in words. So readers please vote and comment

To the writers, girls in case you feel disappointed with the response, my only suggestion is that please do not end your story abruptly. Try finishing it off in one or two chapters, in case you like to restart the story in future, you could delete the parts written on the pretext of ending the story and resume writing right from where you want and write just the way you want. Take an example from ramisha_s14 , she thought she won't be able to finish Lover's Possession for personal reasons but did she stop abruptly, No right. She gave us a chapter and later on when she realized that she can actually update the story the way she initially planned, she just deleted the chapter updated, gave us new chapter right from that point and today her story is among Top 10 FF's. If your write well, if you have confidence in what you think, the praises shall follow. So while i request the readers to vote and comment on the parts they like, i would request writers not to get bogged down with the response or in case they are highly disappointed please do not leave things unfinished...Unfinished work is as useless as no work at at all. Please do not do that, the least that the hard work you've put in you stories all this while deserves is a proper end to what you start. I had joined wattpad an year back and since then if i look at my library almost 50% of the stories have been discontinued or ended abruptly. It is very disappointing to be a mute spectator to this, so thought of voicing out my opinion

Next one is only for the writers. Very recently, i read a few stories and was left aghast and shocked with the way they portrayed revenge. Writers please understand, "Slapping a woman a public won't make you a better man, similarly slapping a man in public won't make you a better woman either", it is about equality and not placing one over the other for in such case either man or woman would be seated at the pedestal and never walk hand in hand. Do we want that..really..??...Are we still living in the atrocious era, where principles such as an eye for an eye, blood for blood was followed...?? For if that's the case then, everyone would be blind and there would be blood shed all over. As writers, we need to understand that our words might make a difference so we have to be a little responsible towards it. Revenge does not necessarily mean stooping down to other person's level, playing with someone's dignity won't make you victorious. Please read "Mr. Arrogant's Smart Wife" by WriterAnisha_2307, writers Divya is a kind of women we all should aspire to be, she is hurt with her husband's actions but rather than planning to destroy him, she avenges the attack on her respect and dreams with smartness and intelligence. Thank you Anisha for such a beautiful story. Take for instance, "Cursed to be together" by pani_possible; or "Love brings Hatred along" by AMAAYA1114 ; or "Lovers Possession" by ramisha_s14 ; or "Vivah" by MaNanlicious_Angel; women in the stories have been wronged but did they played with the dignity of the man who wronged them...the answer would be "NO". However, that no where meant that did not make the man realize and repent over the mistakes and the males, they not only regretted their mistakes, they tried to mend it and the woman in their lives earned a respect like never before. So writers my only wish is to please be responsible towards what you write, i am not saying that your words will change the world but they would definitely hit some part of reader's cerebrum, so please ensure that nothing inappropriate gets stored there.

Finally, the last two ones are more of a personal grudge. When we write we expect people to vote and comment for us but when readers do, all they get in return is silence, rather selective silence for the writers might reply to other comments, they might just leave yours...Why..??... As important as it is for a writer to see is work getting appreciated, it is important for the reader too to know that their feedback is important and is appreciated. It doesn't take a lot of time to vote right, similarly in case you are reading the comments it doesn't take a lot of time to just post a smiley or a thank you as a reply.

Secondly, when i started writing on this forum, i requested a lot of writers to go through my story and share their feedback while a few a them like Itslikeametaphor; pani_possible; mananaddicted ; abhs ; AMAAYA1114 etc (sorry if i am forgetting others) actually obliged and have been helpful, supportive since then, a few others (i wont name them) surprised me with their arrogance, i would not use any other word for I found their behavior arrogant. People if you are great writers does not mean you could look down and take the new ones for granted to the extent that others feels that they are almost begging for your support. One of my low days, pani_possible, told me " If the content is good, it will be appreciated" and a few updates later i could see the appreciation coming and it was then that i stopped asking. But looking at my inbox today, triggered the memory when i aimlessly looked out for support but got only a few. Having said that may be i was luckier , may be there are writers out there who do not get even that much.

That makes me wonder why..isn't wattpad a platform for share stories and ideas, then why do we shy away...people please do not shy away from promoting or sharing your feedback for stories weather or not the writer asks for it...When you like a movie don't you tell others about it and ask them to watch...Readers share the stories that you love...writers share your favorites as a reader...As readers, Let us ensure that every good story gets the appreciation it deserves ...I'll start with my favorite stories I have read recently and which i would love every one to read
