As soon as we entered the next room, a high pitched giggle echoed through the room.

"Damn," I heard Leon curse. Silently, I agreed with him. This definitely was not good.

"What a pleasant surprise. But I'm afraid it's Ashley we need, not you Mr. Kennedy. And I would most appreciate if you returned Amor to us," Ramon said.

"There's no way you're getting her back. And since you don't need me, get off my back old man," Leon returned.

"Did you say old man Mr. Kennedy? It might come as a surprise, but I am only twenty years old," Ramon said. He was amused and it sickened me.

"You're just like all the others. A puppet of the parasite," I voiced.

"Amor, you must not believe I am like those diminutive Ganados. Las Plagas are slaves to my will. I have absolute control."

"And I really don't give a damn. Rain or shine, you're going down," Leon cut in.

"Get rid of our American friend. Retrieve Amor. And do not hurt her," Ramon ordered his slaves in a dark tone. He walked away as Ganados surrounded Leon and I.

"I'm gonna warn you now, try not to aim for their heads," Leon said as I readied the knife he gave me.

"Why?"

"That Plagas thing will pop out if you hit the head," Leon said. I nodded, but with confusion written on my face. I used the knife to stun them and Leon finished them off, all the while staying out of the way of arrows. Always arrows. Working together, it didn't take long to kill them all.

"Where to now Princess?" Leon asked, using his nickname for me.

"That door, but it will be locked. He has a security system. Very easy to get passed however. That button next to the door will deactivate it. There is a button in the room to our right, which Ramon believes is will hidden in a vase, that I think unlocks the door."

"You think?" Leon sounded a bit unsure of my last statement.

"I have never actually used the button. I just know it is there," I said sheepishly. Leon sighed and ran his hand through his hair. Something I noticed he did when he was agitated.

"Fine. I'll get the button by the door, you go up to the room. Wait for me to get back before you press it," Leon said. I nodded and went to the room.

Moments later I heard a loud rumble, running footsteps, and a large bang. Leon came into the room looking startled.

"Those things have freakin' rocket launchers!" Leon yelled in exasperation.

"Did the system deactivate?" I asked, ignoring what he just said.

"I'm not sure. Some kind of platform rose up from the floor though."

"Really? Alright, let's see what this thing does," I said as I pressed the button. Another rumble. Leon grasped the door handle and told me to stay behind him. He opened it, but quickly closed it again as I heard two crashes. Once again, he opened the door and used his rifle to kill two Ganados on the platform across from us. There was a chest in the center of the raised platform.

"I think that bridge came from pushing the button. Wait by the door. Might be a trap," Leon said. I did as he said and when he opened the chest and took something from it, the gate blocking the door raised.

"What did you do?" I asked when he came back.

"Grabbed this goat head for his massive wall in the main hall."

"Wall? Never mind, we should continue," I said as I moved to leave.

"Wait a minute. You're gonna tell me why you're so important to him. Right now."

"We do not have time," I argued.

"I'm making time. How can I trust you if you don't tell me anything?" Leon asked.

"Fine. I was born and raised in the village. I had no father and my mother was a panadero, a baker. I met Ramon when I was twelve. I was the same age when Saddler came to our village..."
