[POV: Bobby]
There was nothing unusual about that morning beside the fact that we were performing at the YG Family Concert.
I barely got any sleep last night even though our trainer was kind enough to let us off early from practice. It was our first stage since losing to Winner on WIN. Excited was one way to put it. Nervous was a whole other level. My leg had been bouncing since the moment I jumped out of my bed this morning.
Sitting around the dressing room was torturous. I earned plenty of glares from our stylist noona for trying to run my fingers through my recently styled hair one too many times. Keeping my hands firmly planted on my thighs, I drummed my fingers to the beat of Big Bang sunbaenim's latest single.
"Hyung," A head popped out from behind the dressing room door.
It was Hanbin or BI as he liked being called. Though he was younger than me, I viewed him as a leader; my leader and Team B's leader.
Hanbin gave me a small nod. This is it. I stood up, adjusting my biker jacket.
"Let's do this."
Joining the rest of Team B backstage, I stood between Yunhyeong and Donghyuk in our small circle. It was our ritual, the group circle encouragement. Hanbin gave us a quick pep talk before placing his hand in the centre of the circle. Without thinking, we followed the suit.
Hanbin looked around at the team, a grin formed on his face. "Get ready."
"Showtime!"
As we took our standby positions at the wing of the stage, I felt as if my heart was trying to break out of my chest. It was pounding so hard and so fast. My eyes wandered around the wing, watching as my teammates tried to calm themselves down in their own special way. No doubt they were just as nervous as I was.
Jinhwan was dancing lightly in his spot. Yunhyeong adjusted his cap every few seconds as he paced around in a circle. Junhoe sang softly, changing his facial expression at every verse. I supposed Donghyuk was the calmest there. He just stood there toying around with one of our props. Hanbin, on the other hand, was the most nervous. He kept patting on his chest, trying his best to calm down.
Soon, a stage hand appeared, telling us to take our positions. Jumping on my toes, I pounded my chest and punched my cheeks slightly, like boxers did before their matches. With my pre-performance ritual done, I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins.
We lined up in a horizontal line behind the curtains as the cheers from the fans indicated that Big Bang sunbae's performance had just ended. An announcement was made and the crowd went wild once more.
It's showtime.
The curtains were raised and we burst into our song, "Just Another Boy".
Besides performing a few covers and our newly written song "Wait For Me", we also performed "Climax". The song not only brought the crowd to tears but also ourselves. The song itself was emotional but tears found their way down my cheeks as fans sang along with us during the chorus.
"No limit gon touch the sky!"
The crowd gave us a standing ovation. A wide smile crept onto my face.
This feels good. It feels right.
We stood on stage for a while, absorbing the cheers, pumping the crowd for the next performance by Akmu sunbaenim. Taking our last bows, we left the stage, the cheers for an encore following us.
