Here I am. At my high school that I hated so much. It was the last hour of the day, last day of school before summer. Let me tell why I hated it and wanted to get out of there.

Fights were always going on and most of the lockers were dented because of those fights. Little groups of people were everywhere. There was the football players, the trouble makers, the girls who wore designer clothes and got everything they wanted, the poor kids, the people who thought that a boyfriend/girlfriend was all they needed and those people made out everywhere. They almost swallowed each other. It was gross. Then there's the normal kids like me and my friend Mikayla. We could be popular if we wanted. We could wear designer clothes and designer shoes.

My sister on the other hand was a popular girl. She kind of abused the fact that our family owned 2 clothing brands but I didn't care. Grace has long dirty blonde hair that flows perfectly. She was a varsity cheerleader. She was more of a One Direction fan than an R5 fan. We got along okay. We liked to do most of the same things. I wasn't much of a cheerleader though.

My friend Mikayla and I are a ton alike. See, her family owns American Eagle and Aeropostale. So, we both got pretty much whatever we wanted, not to brag. We went shopping a lot. I mean, who wouldn't go shopping where you can get things for the family discount price at 4 of the coolest stores? Some people even have mistaken us as twins before. We were the same height, almost the same facial features, same body shape, but the one thing that told us apart was that I had blonde hair and she had brown. Probably the #1 reason me and Mikayla are best friends is because we are in love with R5 and we both have major crushes on Ross.

The final bell rang which meant that it was summer. I was very excited because Mikayla was coming over tonight to hang and celebrate summer. I gathered my things and walked through the crowed halls full of fights and people swallowing each other.

There was an occasional "Have a fantastic summer Riley!" or "We totally need to hang out this summer!" from my acquaintances. I call them that because they really aren't friends. They're more of 'I'm just talking to you because your rich' kind of people. They just said those things because they wanted free clothes or to come into my mansion of a house. Whatever.

I met Mikayla by our lockers and we jumped in my Cadillac and drove home. We were also neighbors so I just gave her a ride everyday.

We pulled into my driveway and walked up to the front door. Somehow Grace was already home and was jumping up and down with my mom.

"What is going on in here?" I asked my dad.

"They're just excited." He answered.

"Why are the excited?" I asked wondering what I had missed.

"Riley, we are moving to California!!!! We leave in 3 days!!" My sister said running up to me.

"We are moving?" I asked still in shock.

Before I could do anything, Mikayla sprinted up the stairs and into my room. Okay then.

"Maybe Mikayla will help you pack, Ri. The moving trucks will be here tomorrow afternoon to get the bigger furniture. Then another will come in a couple of days to get everything else. It should all be there and set up before we arrive. You will just have to unpack the boxes." my mom said after she calmed down.

"Why are we doing this?" I asked. Don't get me wrong, I really wanted to move to Cali but I couldn't leave Mikayla. We were suppose to graduate together. I will just have to get over it.

"Hollister and Forever 21 want us out there because a ton of celebs use our clothing lines. By the way girls, your mom will be homeschooling you." My dad said.

Well I guess I should go talk to Mikayla. I walked up the stairs and into my room.

"Hey"

"How could you move?" She asked

"I didn't do it. But you can come visit once we get settled. You could spend almost 2 months out there!"

"That sounds good. Now I'm not so sad. Let's get packing." She stated.

We turned on some R5 music and got to work.

I started taking down my R5 and Ross posters while Mikayla put some clothes in a suitcase and the rest in boxes. I put my musical instruments in their cases. We both took down decor and kind of went through things to find stuff that I didn't need anymore.

We finished about 2 hours later. My dad came up and helped us take the big furniture downstairs.

"Hey! Let's go do something with Grace before you guys leave!" Mikayla suggested.

"Ok. I'm going to see if she wants to go."

I went across hall, opened the door, and saw her and her boyfriend Tyler almost swallowing each. They were making out! Gross.

"Can't you see that I'm busy!?" She snapped at me.

"Um...ya. Just use protection." I said with a smirk on my face as I closed the door.

I went back to my room

"She's uh...'busy'" I said using air quotes around busy.

"Let's go see Frozen!" She said excitedly.

"Ok!"

2 hours later we were back home and laying on my floor in sleeping bags. It was very quiet.

"I can't believe you're moving in a few days" she said breaking the silence.

"I can't either. But you can come visit and I can come here too!" I said trying to cheer her up.

A few hours later, we were both asleep.

~3 days later~

Today was it. My last day living in Illinois. I wanted to scream because I was so excited but then again I wanted to cry. I had to leave Mikayla.

Grace had told Tyler that we were moving and they agreed to be 'friends with benefits'. He was going to come visit once we got there too. Yay! Grace really didn't have other friends besides Tyler so she didn't have the same problem I had. I liked Tyler and all but I got jealous fast because I had never had a boyfriend before.

Her family took us to the airport because our cars were already in Cali. The car was silent the whole ride there with the few exceptional sobs from Mikayla.

About 10 minutes later, we reached the airport.

"I guess this is goodbye" Mikayla said.

"No, it's a see you later because in a few weeks you are coming out there and we will have a blast."

"Ok see you later." She said as we hugged.

We let go and waved as I walked through security to our private jet.

It wasn't a goodbye. It was a see you later.
