Chapter Forty Four 'Too Soon!'

Ember's POV
'I am going to destroy you!' I thought hungrily as my breakfast was placed in front of me.

'LITTLE DOLL!' Mr J snapped angrily from beside.
'Huh daddy!' I jumped in confusion.
'Did you not hear a word I said!' He snarled.

'Sorry daddy I was thinking about food' I confessed giving him a nervous giggle.
'As I was saying! I've got some business to sort out today. YOU will be staying here!' He ordered.
'It's not like I could go anywhere daddy, look at me!' I exclaimed pointing to my large bump.
I had a month and three days to go until my due date and I was becoming incredibly frustrated. Mr J refused to let me go anywhere, not even the garden. I had read everything single book, watched every show and now I was slowly losing my mind. I just wanted some so fresh air before I snapped.
'Don't give me an attitude little doll, daddy's doing this for your protection!' Mr J snarled.
'I know I'm sorry daddy' I pouted leaning over to kiss his cheek.

I swear this food was made by the heavens!
As usual Mr J and Harley stared in disgust as I shovelled whatever I could into my mouth.
'Ahhh!'
I dropped my fork as a shooting pain went through my stomach.
'Little doll!' Mr J exclaimed as he came to kneel beside me and rest his hand on my bump.
Him and Harley looked on in worry as I continued to pant in pain but after a few seconds it subsided.
'I'm ok daddy, I think it was just braxton hicks again' I gripped his hand giving him a weak smile.
'Are you sure kitten?' He frowned.
'Yeah daddy, can I go rest please?' I yawned.
'Of course' he smiled standing up and placing his lips on mine before moving back to his seat.
Giving them both one last reassuring smile I walked out the dining room and headed for the stairs.

I was half way up the stairs when the pain came back stronger than ever. I froze and gritted my teeth to stop my cries.
'Please stop' I thought as tears began to brim my eyes.
But it didn't, in fact it was getting worse by the second.
I needed to get to my bed so I could sleep it out.
I had only taken two steps when a gush of water rushed out of me and pooled around my feet.
Oh no!
'DADDY! AHHHH!' I wailed gripping tightly onto the banister as fear swept through me.
'EMBER!' I heard him scream as well as multiple pounding footsteps.
Hearing him enter I slowly turned to face him.
'Little doll!'
