Ch. 5

Pulling away he looked in my eyes.

“We are soul mates. I know you felt the spark just now as did I. It 

was our body’s recognizing one another.” He said smiling.

“But how?” I say in a whisper.

‘I don’t understand any of this. I don’t believe in soul mates.’ I 

thought confused.

“I’ll help you to understand and in time I hope you will trust me and 

believe in me as your mate.” Marcus said pulling me into a hug.

“How do I know I can trust you? You’re a vampire that was sent to 

kill me.” I say looking up at him.

“Listen to your heart & I’ll do anything I can to make you trust me 

and hopefully love me in time. But for now you must be tired so why 

don’t you take a nap and when you wake I’ll have some food ready for 

you.” He said leading me back to the bed.

Lying down on the bed Marcus pulls the blankets over her and tucks her 

in. Kissing her forehead he sits in a chair near the bed and watches 

her fall asleep.

*Marcuse’s POV*

Watching her sleep is such a beautiful sight. She looks so sweet and 

innocent. The way her hair is spread out on the pillow makes her look 

like an angel. With her pink hair she looks almost like a fairy tale, 

tho I like her natural bright blond hair better. And it seems every 

time I look in her blue eyes I get lost in their beauty.

Seeing she’s in a deep sleep I get up and open the secret door under 

the bed. Walking to the kitchen I ask the chef to have a breakfast 

plate made in an hour and sent up to the room knowing she'll be awake 

by then.

Walking into my office I sit at my desk and open up the new file of 

information I've just gotten on Valcarie.

Orphaned at 5. Spend 5 years in an orphanage. Moved from foster home to 

foster home till the age of 12 when she ran away & dropped off the 

radar. Then At the age of 16 she popped up again as an underground 

hacker.

Reading her file I stare wide eyed at the name of her father.

'He can't be.' I think to myself.

Victor Carson is a vampire. Or rather was a vampire. One of the 

strongest ever known till he was executed by the vampire council for 

exposing the secret about vampires to a human. But could he have had a 

child 18 years ago?

Wait!! 18 years ago was when it was reported that he exposed our 

secret! Could the human have been Valcarie mother? But if it was then 

who is her mother, why did she abandon Valcarie, & where is she now?

It would seem I have more answers I need but it's almost certain that 

Valcarie is defiantly part vampire. But that only answers part of her 

sent the other part doesn’t smell human. But to get the answer to that 

question I need to find her mother & seams victor is dead I'll have to 

start with his brother Gabriel.

Now to just find him...
