Sabrina

July (One Week Before Washington D.C.)

Taking a break from packing my stuff, I sat on my bed and just looked around my almost empty room. I've been shipping things off all week. My dad is already there so he's just putting my stuff up as it comes.

I'm nervous.

New city, new environment, new people, a lot is about to change.

L.A/Crenshaw or Baldwin Hills, whatever you want to call it, will always be home but I just can't stay here forever. I've learned so much and been through so much here, I think I deserve a new start.

I'm not going to lie, I'll miss being here. Not being able to see my mom whenever I want, or Nicki. I'll most definitely be flying back when she gives birth. Not being able to see my Best friend whenever I want. Honestly I'll miss Chris too. We haven't really spoke since graduation. He texts me every now and then but he's been at a basketball camp up at UCLA. I still think about the 'what if's' but if we were meant to be we'd be together right now.

I wouldn't say we're friends, we're cordial and I'll always love him.

The good outweighed the bad honestly but the bad was just too much to handle.

Let me get back to packing. I went in my closet and started pulling up out the stuff I had left hanging up.

How did I manage to get all these clothes in this small ass closet?! My shoes alone took a week to pack and ship off. Nobody's even here to help me!!

Ugh

My phone started ringing on my dresser.

I walked over to see who it was. To my surprise it was Chris. I slid over the answer button and put it on speakerphone.

"Hello." I said.

"Wassup, you busy?"

"Umm just finishing up my packing."

"Oh, I was headed back home for a little while and I didn't know if I'd be back when you left so I was just wondering if I could stop by and chill with you for a sec."

"I guess that's okay."

"Alright, you want anything before I get there?"

"No, I'm fine."

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute."

"Okay." I hung up. I jumped up out the bed and searched through the clothes I haven't packed up. Grabbing a cami dress, some underclothes and my bathroom stuff, I went and took a quick shower.

This is the fastest I've ever been ready.

I've been chilling in his jogging pants and t-shirts for the past few days!

When I got out the shower I pulled my hair into a quick bun, put on my body spray then went back into my room.

A few minutes later a text came through from him letting me know he was outside. I hurried downstairs and opened the door. He stood there with roses and a gift bag.
