Her breathing was hard, coming in short gasps as she tried to fill her lungs with the oxygen needed but keep running at her adrenaline fused pace at the same time. She didn't know how she got to where she was but she surely knew why. The fear coursing through her body like strong waves was one constant reminder. The mental image of what she had seen playing like a broken record inside her mind was another. She was too busy running for her life to fully comprehend if what she saw was real, but she didn't want to stop to find out.

He ran after her gracefully, keeping up with her pace as if he were merely walking. Yet he didn't jump out and get her like his instinct was telling him to. He wanted the chase. He liked the sound of her erratic heart beat. He liked that she thought he was behind her when in fact, it was her who was behind him. He had come out for a midnight snack when the girl stumbled into the alley. He would have killed her then, just reached her in a second and snapped her neck but something held him from doing so. He stayed put and when she ran, he ran after her.

Twigs and other things were snapping under her feet and scraping them, creating small gashes and cuts all over them. The heels she had been wearing had been long forgotten when she figured she would run faster without them. She didn't mind her feet though, they didn't matter at the moment. She figured if she could get out alive with a bit of damaged feet, it'd be better than stopping and being caught.

She didn't know which way to run. She had never been in this part of the large woods before. So she just continued to run as straight as she could. When she looked behind her to see if her chaser was close behind, she ran smack into something cold and extremely hard. When she looked up, she let out a shrill of fright and started to back up. She didn't get very far before she tripped over a tree root and fell. In her last attempt of getting away from the advancing creature, she squished herself against the tree.

She watched as the creature smiled in amusement at her futile attempts to keep herself safe and continued to walk slowly towards her. Despite the dry blood smeared across his chin and his ruby red eyes, she couldn't deny he was handsome. You could tell his body was built beneath the rather formal looking button up he wore that stretched against the muscle in his arms. His jaw line was sharp and attractive, his lips luscious looking and full. But she couldn't bring herself to fully admit these things with the way he was staring at her.

Like she was his next meal.

"P-please," She whispered helplessly, "Don't hurt me," She begged.

The man threw his head back and laughed. It was such a cliche thing to say, something he had heard so many times before in his many years of life. It used to excite him more, making killing the innocent humans much more exciting. But now all it could make him do was laugh.

He bent down in front of her, noticing the tears running down her cheeks as she stared helplessly at the ground. She knew that if what she saw earlier was real, there was no way she was going to make it out alive. She flinched as he brought his cold finger on her cheek, catching a single tear. In one last attempt at getting away, she used what energy she had left to pull herself up and try to run. But she didn't even lift her foot off the ground for the first step before she was pinned against the tree trunk.

He was furious, no one escaped him, ever. He made sure every part of his body was flush against hers, putting just enough pressure to make her uncomfortable. She wiggled and gasped for breath since her lungs were being constricted with the creature against her.

"Please," She sobbed, "let me go," She begged.

The crunch of the tree they were up against was heard on either side of her head. Her eyes widened and the fear impossibly grew inside of her as she witnessed the man dig his hands into the bark as if it was nothing. Her breathing became faster and her heart beat harder against her chest. She was going to die any minute now and she knew. She didn't know what to do, she was in shock, paralyzed from head to toe.

Oddly enough, the feeling of the creatures cold, hard body against hers gave her tremendous heat. Waves of what was almost pleasure made through to every part of her body. She was disgusted. With herself and the creature. How was it that she was somewhat attracted to it when she knew it wanted to kill her? She wondered to herself if he was feeling similar emotions.

He didn't know who she was, or why she was making him feel like this, but he didn't know if he liked it or not. In an attempt to get rid of the foreign feeling he roughly grabbed her chin and snapped her head to the side. She cried out in pain at the hold he had on her face. It was tight, too tight.

"No, please," She cried out desperately at the feel of his sharp teeth against her neck. She made fists with his t-shirt and tried her best to shove him off, but not a single muscle moved. She thrashed against him, trying anything to get out of his hold but nothing was working. She fell limp in his arms, finally giving up, finally coming to terms with the fact that in seconds she will most likely come to her death.

He should have been happy she finally gave in, he should have sunk his teeth into her neck and drank her of her blood completely. But for some reason he was upset with her lack of defense, with the lack of fight for her life. Though he knew as well as she did that she had tried everything she could and against him there was absolutely no way she would make it out alive.

So in a last split second decision, he sunk his teeth into her neck, forcing forward drowsiness and dizziness from his body. The body against his fell even more limp from lack of consciousness and he wrapped his arm around her waist to keep her up right. He looked down at her, her face lit with moonlight and admired her beauty. The way her hair cascaded down her back in long chocolate waves. Her perfect button nose sitting between and underneath her closed eyes, and her full pink lips.

He didn't know why he was so infatuated with the girl, nothing like this had happened to him before, but he wanted to find out.

He wanted to know what it was that made him desire more than just her blood.
