On my way to my cabin, I passed a small opening that led to a little clearing. It was used as an open storage space most of the time. My eyes fell upon Shayla and Nate who were standing in the opening, talking. They laughed and Shayla leaned in, pushing a laughing Nate slightly. He wrapped his arms around her, keeping his balance in tact. Shayla then looked up at Nate, their lips were close to one another, barely touching.
Nate's eyes suddenly looked up and met mine. His eyes widened and that's when I found the courage within me to turn my head and walk away, sprinting to my cabin once I was out of his sight. Plopping down on my bed, I started sobbing. Sleep overtaking me not much later.
I opened my eyes to look up at a grey, almost black clouded sky. Wind whipped around me as I sat up, looking around me in confusion. I was laying in the middle of a road. A forest lay on one side of me while a little town lay on my other side.
I slowly stood up on my feet, recognizing the town all too well.
Storybrooke.
I walked towards it, entering it. The streets were empty and all the shops were desserted. The once lively town I knew, had become a ghost town.
"Hello?!" I yelled, my voice echooing through the empty streets.
Silence filled the area but suddenly, a voice spoke up from behind me.
"Jade?"
I turned around and my eyes widened as they fell upon a person I hadn't seen in a long time.
"Aurora!" I exclaimed, running up to my best friend, hugging her tightly.
"Oh my God, it is you!" Aurora gasped, hugging me back.
We stayed in that position for a bit before pulling away.
"Jade, I was so worried. Everyone was. We thought you were dead!" She said, tears in her eyes.
"No, no, I'm not dead. I'm on Neverland." I announced.
"Neverland?" Aurora repeated.
"Yes." I sniffed, whiping away a tear that rolled down my cheek.
I had missed her so much.
"It's a long story but, basically, the shadow we saw at my party was Peter Pan's shadow. The story is real. It brought me to Neverland." I explained.
"But why didn't you come back?" Aurora asked.
"Because it was difficult, I was held captive and then...I found out who my father was. Peter, Peter is my father." I informed her.
"Peter? As in Peter Pan?" She repeated.
"Yes. My mother found me but we couldn't leave. There is this Shadow that kept us from going. It wants to-"
"Destroy children's dreams." Aurora interrupted me.
I stared at her, tears in both our eyes.
"How did you know?" I asked.
"Because he's here, Jadey. Shadow has appeared in some of our dreams and he has already started his plan. We can't walk out at night, afraid we'll be attacked by one of his creatures. No one has been able to get a full night of sleep since his arrival. He doesn't only turn our dreams into nightmares. He captures us and keeps us from waking up. Some people have already fallen victims." Aurora explained.
"No. No, he won't. We'll come and save you. We'll put a stop to his evil plan." I cried.
Suddenly, a loud boom was heard from the sky.
