Chapter 7: Spots On? Claws Out!

Rose listened to the music until it was her time to sing.

There was a time
I used to look into my father's eyes
In a happy home
I was a queen, I had a gold throne
Those days are gone
Now the memories are on the wall
I hear the sounds
From the places where I was born

Everyone, except for Chloe, was watching Rose with a smile. Even if it was just a smirk, a grin, or a huge smile.

Upon the hill across the blue lake
That's where I had my first heartbreak
I still remember how it all changed
My father said
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now"

Adrien started to remember something. He remembered his mom. He remembered how she use to always be there when he was scared and when he was hurting, physical or emotional.

A tear made its way down Adrien's face as he remembered. No one noticed. Adrien just stared off into his memories while everyone else had their eyes on Rose.

"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now"

Another tear went down Adrien's other cheek. "Dude are you okay?" Nino woke Adrien with his words. "Yeah," Adrien said, trying to wipe off his tears. "I'm fine."

Marinette glanced down at Adrien.

There was a time
I met a boy of a different kind
We ruled the world
I thought I'd never lose him out of sight
We were so young, I still think of him now and then
I still hear the songs reminding me of a friend

Marinette looked at Adrien again. Marinette wondered why he kept crying. Granted the songs were emotional, but there must be a reason to have him cry this many times.

Marinette faced Rose but still had her eyes on Adrien for a bit longer. She then looked at Rose.

Rose patted her thigh to the beat.

Rose ended beautifully and everyone clapped. Chloe had to get nudged again by Sabrina to clap. Rose went back down to her seat and Madam B dismissed the class.

Marinette walked outside, put her hand out and felt it grow wet. She then stopped and waited on the porch. Adrien came out with a black umbrella in his hand ready to open. "Hi." Adrien waved at Marinette. Marinette widened her eyes at him and looked away sheepishly.

Adrien opened his umbrella and walked a few steps before he stopped himself. "Thank you for helping me out with my song. You have no idea how much it means to me. I was never really taught how to write my own songs. I hope I get to learn how soon." Adrien looked behind him at Marinette and smiled.
