Two Worlds Apart

Explanation and Confusion

The next morning , I woke up in time for breakfast and headed downstairs towards the dining room.

All of my friends at ease and casually interacting with the other members of this household.

Meaning Sam , Richard , Their parents , Anthony and finally Nate.

Everyone acknowledged my presence when I came in.

I sat next to Drake and unfortunately right across Nate. Again.

But it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Nate wasn’t being a jerk to me anymore. For once , he actually greeted me properly without even a slight bit of mockery and smiled at me. Like a normal person.

It must have been something to do with yesterday and our sort-of bonding time in his room.

I guess we’ve become ‘Acquaintances’ or something.

I was so lost in my deep thought that I hadn’t even realized Anthony had been addressing me for the past 5 minutes.

And , when I looked across the room , everyone ….I mean literally EVERYONE except my friends and Sam, were looking at me wide eyed.

I nudged Drake asking him the reason why everyone was staring at me like that.

Before he could even open his mouth to respond to my question ,

Sam’s mother answered my doubt.

‘You mean to say , THIS girl here IS the granddaughter of THAT Traitor?

Anthony!!!! Knowing that how could you have let her stay even in the slightest proximity of all of us?’ , She bellowed angrily standing up.

Oh…they know now ..well…here comes the great-big drama.

I thought to myself

‘Calm down , Anne. And please sit down. Let me explain everything.’, Anthony said authoritively.

Anne still looking extremely pissed , decided to sit down.

‘Now ,  Listen to me good and listen to me carefully. It is not Lily’s fault that her grandfather is the Traitor. The fact that she is here was a mere accident . And her being related to that man is nothing but a coincidence. Albeit , a bad one. No offence , Lily’ , Anthony addressed the last part to me

I shrugged and said , ‘None taken’

‘she wanted to leave this dimension yesterday itself , The minute she found out , But I told her to stay for just another day with us.’ , he continued.

‘But , why?’, Anne asked

‘Because , her disappearing off like that in the middle of the night din’t feel right. Plus , I felt it was better if you all knew the whole story before she left. So that you wouldn’t blame her for everything and think of her as a coward .’

‘I need you all to understand that Lily is not to be blamed for the actions of her ancestors. What happened has happened , and we can do nothing to change the past’

Anthony explained everyone. I felt so awe-struck. The fact that Anthony supported me , over-whelmed me.

‘But she does have the same blood coursing through her veins!. How is she not any different , Anthony?’ , Anne asked

‘Because ,she hasn’t done anything to us in all the time that she has been here!. Even after she had found out about her powers. She din’t do anything . She din’t even leave . She heeded to my words. And , That is reason enough for me to believe that she is not like her grandfather’
