In Sickness and In Health

We drove in our wedding car,

from morning until noon.

We're going off to somewhere far,

to spend our honeymoon.

I bought a yatch for us to ride

for us to cross the sea.

We'll even go against the tide

on this activity.

"It'll be fun I promise you

our joys will never end.

Inside our very rendevouz

our love will never bend."

"My love," she said, "the skies are grey,

shouldn't we postpone?"

"Nonsense, dear, come out and play

you won't do this alone."

Convinced by love she went aboard

and sailed the sea with me.

She loved me so she didn't waste

this opportunity.

She was right, we should have stayed,

at home where it was warm.

Now the storm got us delayed,

exposed to every harm.

The skies cried hard and cried some more

and then a lightning struck.

We washed up on some foreign shore

and now we're out of luck.

"We have no food, our clothes are wet

My love what shall we do?"

I said to her, "Go get some rest,

I will watch over you."

For many days I searched for food

so we won't starve and die

My wife gathered the firewood

and asked the heavens "Why?"

I sat beside my lovely wife,

I had nothing to say.

She asked "My love, you are my life,

my love, are you okay?

Hungry now, my stomach growled

I really needed food

It growled again, this time aloud

in heavy magnitude

Standing up, I looked away

and looked at her again.

Knowing what I had to say,

I finally began.

"Back in our lovely place,

I loved our dinners for two.

Know that I will miss those days

For now the dinner is you..."
