Chapter 22- Back on Good Terms with My Bad Boy

Start from the beginning

Cole smiled slightly at me before he recomposed himself and lifted his nose in the air, 'Don't want to.'

A small smile escaped my lips but I quickly coughed and gave him a dirty look. 'Okay.'

'How's Matt?' Cole asked as he squinted.

'Fine.' I replied as I squinted back at him.

There was silence for a few seconds as I realised we were having a stare off.

Cole quickly looked away as he smiled which caused me to smile a small smile before I shook my head and gave him a dirty look again.
'You're not very good at staring competitions.' I scoffed in a moody tone.

'I don't care.' He replied as he mimicked my moody tone which I couldn't help but laugh slightly.

I coughed as I folded my arms again, 'We're still not okay.'

'Why?' He frowned as he kept his foot in between the door, making sure I wouldn't slam it.

'Because, because you decided to leave me and you chose-.' I stopped, I didn't even want to say her name.

'Liv.' He started frowning. 'I'm really sorry, I don't know what I was thinking, I really don't.'

'Okay.' I replied as I frowned.

'I don't want us to keep our distance, I never did want us to.' He mumbled.

I sighed in reply, not knowing what to say.

He nodded awkwardly as he whistled, I smiled slightly, 'If you're waiting for me to invite you in, then you're going to be waiting out here all night.' I chuckled.

'I just want to explain everything to you.' He said seriously as he sighed.

I frowned in thought before I opened the door wide enough for him to enter. 'Fine.'

'Where Ms. V?' Cole asked as he stood awkwardly in the hallway.

'New York.' I replied as I walked into the living room and sat down of the sofa.

'Why?' He asked as he followed closely behind.

'Work.' I replied bluntly as I tapped my foot impatiently.

'Right.' He sighed slowly as he sat down of the sofa opposite me.
'How long have you and Matt known each other?' He asked before I could say anything.

'Cole, you aren't really explaining things.' I groaned as I rested my head in my hand.

'Me and El..' he started, 'we were dating for a few years, um, I don't know, I think I cheated on her.'

'What?' I frowned.

'I think I cheated on her and I've felt guilty ever since.. so... I guess... I've basically just thought that.... if I get back with her, I won't feel bad anymore... and I'll be, um, happy. I had no idea she'd come back, I thought I'd feel guilty my whole life and when she came back yesterday.. it felt like a... miracle and... I... did stuff without thinking.' He muttered.

'Cole! You cheated on her! What do you mean?' I asked, shocked and confused.

'Well, I don't know if I cheated on her! Alex said I didn't and Sian said I didn't but I think I did and Aaron said I did!'

'What?! How can you not know if you cheated or not?! Who the hell is sian? How did Aaron get involved in all this?!' I rambled on with the questions, my brain was going overload with confusion.

Cole groaned as he rubbed his eyes viscously, 'Right. One night, I went to a party. Okay? You got that so far?' He asked impatiently.
I nodded as I gave him an evil stare. 'Cole!'

'Right, so. The next morning, I woke up.. okay?' He raised an eyebrow at me.

'Oh my god, Cole!' I yelled impatiently.

'I woke up one morning in bed with Sian, a girl who hosted the party. And I couldn't remember anything from the night before, I still can't... Aaron spiked my drink.. at least I think he did. Sian said she remembers everything and she said nothing happened and that I just fell asleep in her bed but I don't know. El caught us and she was bawling her eyes out. It.... broke my heart... to see her so upset, well, at the time it did. I felt so guilty and I have ever since.' He sighed.

'Well then, you obviously didn't cheat, Cole.' I frowned as I tried to process everything Cole just said.

'Hm.' Cole replied as he bit his lip and looked at the floor, thinking.

'Do you still.. love her?' I asked as my heart started beating fast.

Cole gulped as he looked up at me, 'Honestly... I... thought I did...' He sighed, 'But, then I realised I really don't.'

I couldn't help but grin.

'Liv, I really don't want anything to with El. I really don't. You're all I ever think about. I just...I want.. I want you.' He muttered quietly, but loud enough for me to hear.

I grinned as excitement bubbled up inside me. 'Does that mean we're going to... fake date again?' I smiled.

'Does it really have to be fake anymore?' Cole smirked.

My eyes widened as I looked at Cole and smiled, 'It depends.' I smirked.

Cole smirked back at me before he shook his head and laughed. 'I'll be honest with you,' Cole started, laughing, 'El's a little controlling bitch.'

I laughed, 'She seemed so nice though.' I furrowed my brows.

'She called you a bitch last night.' Cole laughed as though he was embarrassed.

'What?' I started as my eyes widened, 'The little slag! Why did she say that?!'

Cole snorted, 'I don't know, she said loads of stuff, she said something about how you aren't who I think you are and you're-'

'Wait.' I cut him off as what he said reminded me of something.

'What?' He frowned.

I quickly grabbed my phone as I opened my messages, I scrolled to where the unknown number had text me and read the message. 'He's not who you think he is.'

'You know those messages we got?' I reminded Cole.

'Yeah..' Cole replied slowly.

'I think they were from El.' I gasped, feeling like a genius.

Cole kept still and he didn't seemed fussed. He raised an eyebrow as he said , 'Yeah, I know.'

'What do you mean you know?' I folded my arms.

'I kinda guessed the night we got the texts.' Cole replied, not really caring.

'What?! Cole! Why didn't you think to tell me?' I gasped.

'I was going to tell you the next day, we just weren't on good terms.' He replied, shrugging.

'Why don't you care that she sent them?!' I asked shocked.

'Because,' Cole started, laughing, 'Its just something she would do.'

I smiled as I shook my head, feeling happy. Cole may be annoying but I'm glad I'm back on good terms with my bad boy.
