"Get the hell down. " I heard in the distance, coming towards me.
I whipped around and got knocked to the ground with the smack of a gun to the face. Falling to the ground and clutching my bloody nose I looked up at my perpetrator. All I remember was seeing the attractive face of the attacker and passing out unconscious. Honestly, I don't even understand how the hell I'm still alive. After that day...That horrible fucking day.
Waking up in a cold sweat, I turned to check my clock, still dizzy with fear. It's 5:00 am....almost time to wake up for school. With a shaky sigh I mumbled 'fuck it' and got up early. I couldn't go to sleep after reliving what happened last year. What I don't understand is why I can't get over what happened. It's so stupid. Back and forth, back and forth I paced my room trying to clear my mind until- Beep beep beep.
5:30, time to get ready for school. I have to catch my bus at 6:15 and getting ready takes up most of my time so I don't bother eating in the mornings. Going through my drawers, I was too lazy to dress nice on a Friday, so I threw on a hoodie and jeans and proceeded to the bathroom to do my makeup. As soon as the day starts I already want it to end. The only thing that ever makes my school days are my friends. They're the only things that keep me going with my miserable existence. Checking the time I noticed that I finished my makeup at the right time. So I grabbed my tattered backpack and dashed down my stairs and out the door to catch my bus as it pulls up in the driveway. Time for another boring day.
Getting on the bus, I took a seat next to my friend Sabrina. Her hair was pulled back as usual with her sporty girl look. We've been friends since Kindergarten and I still question how we've managed to be friends all these years. She looks over at me and waves at me so I flipped her off as a friendly response. Bus rides to school were perhaps the most boring things ever. All was silent all the way to the school. Once my bus pulled up I let out a sigh and made sure I was the first one out of there and to the cafeteria to see my friends.
"Hey yo it's Maxie-Pad!" I could hear from Tyler.
Brushing my messy brown hair out of my eyes and laughed after giving a wave. "Hey kiddos."
I was greeted by my group of friends smothering me in hugs. Tyler, Gunner, and Amber hugged me tightly. This was a usual greeting I got, the same 3 friends attacking me with Macy and Cory waving to me from the table. I took my seat with them and smiled. Gunner adjusted his flower crown before turning to me and pointing out the scar on my face.
"I see that your scar hasn't gone away at all..." He furrowed his brows in disappointment, and Tyler brushed his hand against my scar with a rather upset sigh.
"Max, you're still beautiful as always." Amber spoke up with a laugh.
I nodded my head in response. Suddenly the 1st period bell went off and everyone left to their class. Amber and Macy followed close by me to our lockers which were all close to each other. 1st period. Math. Amber groaned in frustration.
"Ugh, what the hell...I just want this week to be over already." She laughed.
Macy chuckled, "I've never heard such an agreeable statement before."
"Off to hell we go. Oh wait, we're already here!" I goofed around with two of my closes friends until the late bell sounded and we all dashed to our class.
