"Kumukutikutitap, bumubusibusilak..." ang ingay ng tugtog ng kapitbahay, damang dama na ang Pasko sa Pilipinas pero kahit ano mang lamig ng panahon, nakatayo pa rin ako dito sa labas ng bahay hawak-hawak ang larawang huli naming kinuha bago siya umalis ng bansa, ang sabi kasi ng mga magulang ko pabalik na daw sila ngayong araw.
Biglang lumabas si Ate Josie "Baby girl, pumasok ka na daw sa loob, sabi ng mama mo."
"Ate Jo, don't call me baby girl that's so not me, at pakisabi po kay mama, hihintayin ko lang naman po sina Paco ehh may ibibigay lang po ako tsaka para na din pagdating po ni papa nandito po ako para salubungin siya at tulungan po siyang ihanda yung christmas decors natin. Thank you po." sabi ko
"Ohh sige Simone Amaris Blaise Ventura, alam ko naman na iyan ang sasabihin mo kaya nandito si Yaya at may dalang upuan at sorbetes para sa pinakamaganda kong alaga, at hep hep..." alam niyang aangal ako kaya ayun "Hayaan mo aalis ako kapag dumating na si Baby Boy." sabi niya at binuhat ako para umupo sa dala niyang upuan
Napakamot ako ng ulo "Ate Joooooooo! Huwag mo tawaging baby boy si Pacoooooooooo!"
"Ehh ano pala itatawag ko sa kanya?" pagtatanong niya tapos umupo sa isa pang upuan na nilabas niya
"Hmmmmm... Mr. Cabrera, tapos ako Mrs. Cabrera! HIHIHIIHIHIHII" humahagikgik ako nun sa tuwa iniisip ko pa lang na magiging kami pagtanda namin kinikilig na ako
"Nakoo pooo! Saan mo iyan natutuhan! Isusumbong kita kay mama mo!" panakot niya sa akin
"Ate Jo, isumbong mo man ako, legal ang pagmamahalan namin ni Paco!" pagdadrama ko
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEP
"Ay kabayo!" sigaw ni Ate Jo, HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA tawa talaga ako ng tawa tuwing nagugulat siya ehh
Tumigil iyong maingay na sasakyan sa tapat namin
Nagulat ako nang si Papa iyong bumaba
"Sab! What are you doing outside? Josie! Nasaan si Victor! Bakit hindi kayo binabantayan!? Sab go inside the car, stop wasting your time! Did you study? It's late and this is not a place for a 9 year old at this time of the day!" Pinagalitan ako ni Papa pagbaba niya
"Papa, I'm just waiting for Paco, I have something of his and he has something of mine! Pauwi na po iyon, just a few minutes more pleaseeeeee!" I pleaded
Tinignan lang ni Papa si Ate Jo at sa isang kisapmata, I was held against my will, binuhat ako ni ate jo papasok sa sasakyan, ngawa ako ng ngawa just like any other kid would, agawin niyo na lahat ng candy at laruan sa akin, huwag lang ang pagkakataon na makita ko si Paco.
"Simone Amaris!" sigaw ni Papa, I was stunned at mas lalo akong naiiyak dahil pinagtaasan ako ng boses ni Papa
"Why are you crying?" he asked as calm as he can
"Pacooo" I said between my sobs, napailing na lang si papa sa akin
Binuhat ako ni Papa papasok ng bahay at dumiretso kami kung nasaan si Mama
"Love, hindi mo pa sinasabi kay Sab?" tanong ni Papa kay Mama na nagkakabit ng Christmas decors sa kitchen
"Love, ayaw niya pa kasi pumasok kaya hindi ko pa nasasabi" then mom faced me and held my shoulders "Sab, maaga tayo pupunta kina Lola at Lolo kasi sa San Marcelino tayo magPapasko with the Cabreras" those words were enough to turn my frown upside down
"PAPAPAPAPAAPAPAPAPP!!!! MAMAMAMMAMAMAMAMMAMA!! Is this real?!!!!?? WAAAAAAH WHAT AM I GONNA WEAR?" pagwawala ko doon sa tuwa dahil kasama ko sa paborito kong holiday yung pangatlo sa pinakamamahal kong lalaki, siyemore una si God, 2nd si Papa and third si PACOOOOO
"We already bought holiday clothes, the other day, diba?" Mom reminded me in a tone na nagpapahiwatig ng huwag ka ng kumerengkeng pa hahahahaha
"But Ma! What if I spilled something on it or some accident happens then I don't have any pamalit, I'll buy using my Christmas Money, pleaseeeeee." I pleaded, my mom stood her ground at hindi ako pinayagan na gumastos pa
We just ate dinner and Ate Jo helped me pack my things for the trip.
Bumaba ako to drink a glass of milk before going to sleep siyempre ngumata na din ako ng cookies when I overheard my mom talking on the phone with Tita Ferrer
"Oo Mars! She's so excited! You should've seen her reaction! Sobrang miss niya na kasi si Paco, ewan ko ba ang charm ng anak mo sa anak ko hahahahaha, thank you for inviting us to your resthouse! It's really the perfect timing! Parents ko kasi are on a cruise, at ang family naman ni Tristan nagpreprepare na dahil magmimigrate na sila sa London for good, college na kasi ang bunso ni Ate Rachel ehh, oo yung panganay nila. It's also a good thing that our kids got along well, Oh hey Paxton! Simone misses you! She cries every night hahahaha" palakad lakad si mama sa living room habang hawak ang telephone
"MAMAMAMAMMAMA! Si Paco po ba iyan?!!!! PAKAUSAP PLEASEEEEEEEEE!" Tinatalon ko na si Mama sa sobrang excited ko
Bago niya pa matanggal sa tainga niya nahablot ko na and I ran palabas sa may backyard namin
"Pacoooooo! How are you? Are you doing fine? I miss you so much! Don't worry! Mabilis lang kami bukas kina lola! Kasi papunta na silang Royal Carribbean, yung cruise, paglaki natin punta din tayo doon ha it's their 5th time tapos sabi nila enjoy daw yuun! Wala kasing time sina Mama and Papa for that ehh kayo tayo na lang when we grow up!" I mumbled out of happiness
"I miss you" it's his reply
"I know you do hayaan mo we're just 7 hours away, and I miss you more." I said still rumbling
"Simone, when we grow up, I will marry you." He said that made my heart flutter and my eyes grow big
9 years of age, and he's thinking of that, kinabahan ako doon but also relieved that the feeling between us is mutual it's not conceited or one sided which made me miss him more
"Ha? Ohh sige! I'll bring a notebook and some of my best pens! So that we can plan our wedding!" I uttered excitedly
"Hahahahahaha when the time comes, let's hire a wedding planner. I miss you, Simone, but you have to sleep early so give the phone back to Tita." He said
"Owwwwkay, Good Night Pacooo! You should sleep na din! I MISS YOUUU! And see youuuuu MWAH!" I said and ran inside, kahit na gusto ko pa siyang kausapin, I won't go against him, I kissed mama good night and papa brought me a glass of water before kissing me good night
I slept with a smile on my face, the lights are out but my heart is still beating really fast
