he couldn't take it anymore, he had to make things right again. At least as right as everything was before Valerie.
Valerie and Lucas were laying on his bed, just watching movies. Lucas had invited her over to break up with her, he just needed to build up the courage to actually do it.
He sighed as he paused the tv , "Can we talk"
Valerie sat up and shrugged, "Sure, what about"?
"Umm, well I've been wanting to tell you something for awhile", he pursed his lips, "I just don't know how to".
Valerie chuckled, "Your breaking up with me".
"Uh- I.. - I mean", he hesitated, then sighed "Yeah".
Valerie nodded
"And i know this is so stereotypical, but it really isn't you, it's me, I just-"
"Your in love with Maya". Valerie cut him off
Lucas was taken aback, in shock, he didn't know what to say
"It's okay, Friar". Valerie chuckled "I won't tell. I mean it's not like your actually related, it's not a big deal".
"Yeah-.. yeah ... it's just, I mean, how did you know"? He scrunched his eyebrows
Valerie smirked "The way your eyes would light up when you would talk about her, or the way your lips would curve into a slight smile whenever her name was brought up. The way, where no matter what's going on in your social circle, you never fail to stop and stare whenever she's visible , even in the slightest".
"I'm really sorry", was all he could say
She shook her head, "I'm not, I'm glad you finally admitted your feelings, not to me, but to yourself".
She gave him one last smile, before grabbing her bag and leaving

1 month later
Maya and Lucas have slowly began to actually talk again
It's not near to what it use to be yet, but stuff like this takes time. They haven't started officially dating again. Right now they want to focus on their friendship, so they can genuinely enjoy and appreciate each others presence
There was just one problem
Maya had formed feelings for somebody else during their time apart, his name was Anthony, and she was so torn between the two, she hasn't had the heart to tell Lucas, knowing it would break him
But the other side of her thought — he left me, loved, and dated another girl right in front of my eyes, so why shouldn't I be able to do the same
But she had finally gotten Lucas back, the real Lucas, whom she'd been missing for ages, she didn't want to let that go, she didn't want to lose that again.
"What do you guys want for dinner"? Anna asked while walking into the family room, where Maya and Lucas were watching TV
Maya raised her eyebrow "Chinese, take out"?
"Sounds good", Anna nodded "Hey did you guys here the news"?
They looked at her, confused
"Valerie and her family moved out of the house, after only two months", she started "I mean .. how odd is that".
"Why'd they move"? Maya asked
Anna sat down in a lounge chair, "IK not sure, but that house has always given me paranormal feels".
"Or maybe they found out that their neighbors kids are incest". Lucas whispered to Maya
"What was that"? Anna scrunched her eyebrows, "You were mumbling".
"Nothing, I um .. I just think it was a financial issues or something". Lucas shrugged
Suddenly Maya's phone began to buzz, a FaceTime call from Anthony
Maya stiffened, "I'll be right back".
Maya stepped out into the backyard, sitting down in an outdoors lounge chair
"Why are you calling me this late"? Maya chuckled
Anthony shrugged , "I was just bored, wanted to talk to you".
"Did you do Ms. Williams's homework"? Maya asked
"That's all you ever talk about when I call you", he smirked "You're avoiding something".
Maya scrunched her eyebrows "What? -.. No , no I'm not".
"Maya I like you". Anthony replied
Maya's voice grew lower "I like you too".
"So why can't we just date"? He asked
She pursed her lips "It has its complications".
He laughed "Now your just making up excuses".
Maya had a slight smile on her face, but didn't say anything
Anthony raised an eyebrow "Will you be my girlfriend".
"It's not as easy as that Anthony", Maya answered
"How so"? He started "I like you, you like me. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing topping us from being together right now is your little excus-
"I'll be your girlfriend". She cut him of
His face grew into a smile
He whispered to himself "That's wild".
She giggled, "I gotta go".
"Bye beautiful",
She slightly blushed, trying not to make it too noticeable "Bye".
