Lucas took Maya's hand as they walked up an unsteady staircase, to the roof of some building, with a 6 pack of beer in his other hand

Maya sat down at the ledge of the roof, with Lucas sitting down next to her, warpping his warm arms around her shoulders
"What are we gonna do"? Maya pursed her lips "People are gonna find out sooner or later, we almost already got caught at school. Our parents would go insane if they found out, they'd get a divorce, tehy would never let us see achother again".
"Run away with me". Lucas said into her wavy blonde hair
Maya looked up and into his deep green eyes "Lucas I'm serious".
"When you and I graduate, we'll be old enough to handle ourselves and make our own desicions, with our parents approval or not. We'll have access to our college funs and trust funds, we'll be sitting on a pile of money. I'm gonna buy us a house, and we're gonna be happy, and we're not gonna have to keep anything a secret, because we'll be adults, and we'll have just enough rights to have a reationship as our parents have". Lucas explained
"What if they hate us". Maya whispered
"Put it all on me". Lucas replied "Say it's all my fault. But Maya, no matter how hard they tried, they could never hate us. It's impossible, we're they're kids, and step-kids. When we're older, they won't have a say in what we do anymore".
