Chapter 2:
Aegus:
Aegus sat glaring in the mirror with hate in his heart. Hate for himself and the person he is, the person that he had become that he couldn't accept. But he had no choice but to accept it and deal with it. He decided that he couldn't look at the stranger that stared back at him he decided that he needed to pray more, and more until his problem was fixed. Each time he entered the ever large Khora felt like he was looked down upon by the priests and other people there They thought that he was nothing anymore and he was so stricken with grief that he wouldn't or couldn't fix this overcome this but they were wrong. ever so wrong.
He knew that he would be the person he was before the incident no he would be better than that person. Everyone would be staring up at knowing that they were beneath him and that was their rightful spot. In Aegus's mind he conjured up a fantasy of him be in power not the almighties not any of the kings and Queens but him the dusty broken man they all had painted him to be with their sad smiles and fake affection. Everyone thought he would die when the accident occurred and all of them were wrong. They would be wrong again. He was sure of it.
He positioned himself in front of the largest alter which represented the galaxi's healer part inside of her. He prayed so hard for so long that he was brought to tears. Questions flew through his head; Why they had done this to him?Why him?Why was he being punished when surely there was someone out there who had wronged the gods more than him? Those thought were quickly dismissed those poisonous thoughts as he chided himself for even daring to question the ten and holy Pratasas Dea. In his mind, he thought he needed to be punished for his wrong doings. Time had slipped by as he realized that he had been there the whole day, Aegus decided it was time to go back and continue laying out the foundation for another machine to fix him. As he was turning around he bumped into something. The person he hit backed up leaving room for him to fully turn around.
"Associate Aegus, i'm sorry to disturb you but I was looking for advice and I think you are the only person who I can get it from." Astraea asked him. He felt affectionate towards her like she was his child. He reminded himself not to think about him because if he did then he would want to find him.
" Yes child, what is it?"
"I just don't know about serving the royal family, I, I don't want to make a mistake. I am just so stressed-"
"Relax take a deep breath, calm yourself down while you walk to your classes." By the look on her face she had completely forgotten about her classes.
"Oh right thank you for reminding me," She spun on her heel and began to jog towards her class.
"Astraea," He shouted, "Don't forget to calm yourself down." Just as she disappeared from his view he was the Queen enter. He eyes were glued on him as if she knew he would be here. She stalked toward every step slower than the last one.
"Associate or should I say former associate. I have a proposition for you that I know you won't refuse," He voice was soft and gave him chills after every word left her tongue.
"If you should know I will not be giving up my position as head associate, not that it's any of your concern more of the king's. Now what is your proposition because I really need to get going." He tried to move past her but she blocked him.
"How about you help me with that girl you parent so much."
"No, No no absolutely not."
"No, how about if you don't I'll hurt her or worse kill her."
"Stop lying we both know you need her to much to ever lay a finger on her. You and I both know that there is nothing in the world that would persuade me to ever give basically her life to you."
