~Chapter 1~

-Turning Five

(Elena's POV- Two Months Later)

I am stood in the kitchen right now. I am making Birthday Breakfast for the twins. They turn five today, June 16. I don't have work today, so I get to spend my whole day taking care of the little ones. It's also Saturday, so they don't preschool. Alex was called to the hospital very early this morning for an emergency. It was supposed to be his day off as well, but doctors aren't guaranteed their day off.

It's happened before. It's not a surprise to me at all. It's the kids that I feel for. It's their birthday and he won't be here for breakfast. He gets one day off and sometimes still has to go in. He has to leave before they wake up, and gets back when they are asleep. I don't even see him that much. AND I'M HIS WIFE! WE LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE AND SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM! SO HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

But I am not alone in this house anymore. Five years ago we had Gabriella and Arthur. So ever since then I have had them, they keep me occupied and not bored out of my mind. But that whole year after we got married, I was always bored on my day off. Sometimes I would be able to go shopping with May or Krystal even.

But then I found out I was going to have the twins, around the same time Krystal found out she was going to have Rebecca. So that meant we couldn't go to work. So we spent that time shopping for baby stuff. And me be me, I always want to be prepared. So I bought things I never even used or needed. But I still had it just in case. I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard running.

"MOMMY!" Gabriella cried.

I quickly rushed to see what was wrong. As soon as I found her, she was crying. I quickly checked to make sure she wasn't bleeding or had broken anything.

"What happened?" I asked worried.

"Arthur hit me!" She complained. I glanced at Arthur who was now standing next to me.

"Why did you hit your sister?" I asked and gave him a look that said 'you better have a good reason or your in trouble'.

"She made fun of me." He said pointing at Gabriella.

"It's not nice to point." She said hitting his hand.

"What did I say about hitting each other?" I asked scolding both of them.

"It's not nice and can lead to bad things." They both said in unison, hanging their heads in shame.

"Good. Now go to the table. Breakfast will be ready. Don't think just because it's your birthday I won't be having a talk with your father about a punishment." I said dismissing them.

I went back to the kitchen and lend against a counter and put my head in my hands in stress. Just then the toaster went off indecating that the toast was done. I quickly took them out and put three plates together. I put some eggs, toast, and bacon on each plate. I walked out of the kitchen, carrying three plates, and made my way to the dinning room. I set one plate in front of Gabriella and one in front of Arthur. I sat down at one end of the table, with Gabriella at my right and Arthur to my left.

"So. Do you like breakfast?" I asked trying to break the awkward silence between the two siblings.

"Its good." Gabriella said.
