It Doesn't Work That Way Chapter 2

"No."

"No what?"

"No I'm not trying to make you jealous. I like Mike and he asked me and I said yes, it's as simple as that." He didn't say anything back. We were silent the rest of the period.

The bell rang. As I was gathering my stuff up I noticed everyone was gone including Mr. Kent, well everyone except Sean.

Sean looked at me like he was trying to decide whether or not to do what he was thinking of doing. Apparently he resolved this inner conflict because he started walking towards me. I was about to ask him what he was doing when he kissed me. Just like that. Not really thinking I kissed back. He smirked into the kiss and pulled me closer. I wound my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss missing this feeling. Missing how he made me feel when he kissed me. He put his hand at the back of my neck and the other on my waist as I melted against him. This went on for another three or four minutes until I pulled away for air. He smirked again and said "You're gonna want more, they always do." I stepped back shocked.

"Is that all I am? A play thing? You arrogant asshole! This was stupid, a stupid stupid mistake. I hope you enjoyed that kiss, cause it's the last one you'll be getting from me." I said grabbing my backpack and walking out the door.

I rushed to my 4th period class Ceramics. My favorite it was my third year of taking it so when I walked in Mr. Jackson nodded towards a wheel he had set up for me in the corner. I grabbed my headphones from my bag and got some clay and got to work on the wheel. I turned on some music and started throwing a vase.

When I finished the vase I had just thrown I wrote my name on the bottom and started walking towards the kiln room to put on a shelf to dry before firing. I opened the door just to quickly close it again.

"Hey! You could knock first!" Haley Stanley said opening the door and fixing her shirt and hair. Now this wasn't the first time I'd walked in on someone making out but it was the first time I'd walked in on Sean making out with someone.

"It's a kiln room Haley not a bathroom. It's not made for making out in either." I said back getting bored. I hated Haley she was always a B*tch to me.

"Oh shut up Rose. You're just jealous because I can get a boyfriend!"

"Haley not all of us want a boyfriend. Especially one that sleeps around getting god knows how many diseases from all the other girls that they're doing behind your back."

"Well at least I'm getting some. Miss I'm going to wait for marriage."

"I have never once said I was waiting for marriage you moron. And at least I'm not seen as easy by every guy within a hundred miles." I said smirking.

"You B-"

"Now now ladies! Don't go fighting over me." Sean said cutting Haley off.

"Ha! Like I would ever fight over you! You're not even worth it! You lie, you cheat, you go behind everyone's backs, you sleep around, heck I'd be surprised if you went three days without sex!" I said after laughing. "Now if you'll excuse me I have to put this in the kiln room and get back to class." I walked past them and set my vase down on a shelf as I heard Haley storm off after what sounded like her slapping Sean. I smiled. I walked out and headed towards class. Sean came running up to me and grabbed my arm.

"I bet you I can go without sex." He said smiling at me.

"Yeah right, I bet you're thinking about it right now." I said turning around.

"Of course I'm thinking about it I'm a guy. Of course you could be thinking about it too." He said coming closer to me. I backed up until I hit a wall. I was stuck. He leaned forward and whispered in my ear "I bet you're a screamer. I could have you screaming my name just tell me when Rose. I could make you feel so good, better than you've ever felt. Come on Rose just let me in." I won't lie I thought about it for a second, but I knew how it would end.

"I don't think so Sean. Back up I have to get back to class." I said pushing him away from me. I started walking back to class.

"I bet you I can go a week without sex." He yelled after me.

"I think we already established that you can't." I said over my shoulder as I kept walking.

"Seriously I bet you!" I stopped and turned around.

"Fine, but let's make it more interesting. No sex, making out, kissing, groping, humping or anything sexual for a whole week. Now if you lose, you have to be Mr. Mason's TA, he was just saying today how bad he needs one." I said smirking he hated Mr. Mason, and Mr. Mason hated Sean.

"What no way! Ugh fine! But if, no sorry when I win you have to date me for a month." I froze. No way was I going to put myself through that. I had already been hurt once by him and that was enough. "What scared now? Want to take it back?"

"No. It doesn't matter, I'm gonna win anyway." Thinking if he does win, I'll think of a way to get myself out of it.

"You know, if I do win, you won't be able to get out of it."

"And you know if you date me you won't get any sex."

"We'll see about that. Oh and I am so worth it!." He added as he walked away.
