Thursday went about the same way that Wednesday went. I woke up and went through all the normal routines of the day. William picked on me before school, Xena babbled about the cabin weekend during lunch, and I made dinner that night.

I went to bed later that night, engrossed in my book til the wee hours of the morning. We decided to start the weekend late and end it late; getting to the cabin about five or six on Friday and not being home til ten or eleven Monday night. So, I felt no shame in falling asleep at three in the morning. When I finally woke up, it was twelve in the afternoon. I groaned and got up, not bothering to get dressed since I didn't need to just yet. I still had to pack but right now I needed breakfast. Er, well, lunch considering the time.

I walked to the kitchen, surprised a bit that William wasn't up yet, and grabbed some lunch meat and bread to make a sandwich. I stood against the counter to eat after I finished making it. I was about halfway through when William stumbled into the kitchen. He grumbled at me in greeting and grabbed a coffee mug and started the instant coffee maker. His hair was messed up from sleep, and I giggled at how it looked. I sat my sandwich down and grabbed a chair, pulling it beside him before standing up on it and begun to pat his hair down, which made him burst out laughing.

Ever since he grew up to be taller than me, I did this to make him laugh.

"Pixie, get off the chair before you hurt yourself." He told me, still in his fit of laughter.

"Not until I fix your hair."

"You mother hen." He said, before turning and picking me up and putting me off the chair.

"You know I hate when you do that."

"That's why I do it." He retorted with a smug grin.

I rolled my eyes at him as he fixed his coffee and I finished up the rest of my sandwich. We parted then to go finish packing. Xena was gonna show up around three to get us so I wanted to be ready by then.

I grabbed my small suitcase and my bookbag, filled both up with clothes and toiletries. I stripped out of my pajama's and shoved them into the suitcase before getting dressed in ripped jeans and a white t-shirt. I grabbed a grey pull over hoodie and pulled it on. Once I was dressed and packed, I went through the house and cleaned up anything that needed to be cleaned up. I could hear William blaring music while getting dressed, the kind that involved a lot of screaming in the vocals.

I grabbed a notepad once I fixed everything up, and wrote our dad a note. Reminding him where we were, that I had my cellphone but might not have service, what time we'll be back, and about my dead computer. I left it on the kitchen counter where I was sure he'd find it and went to check on William.

"William! You almost ready? It's half past two already!" I yelled through his door and over the music.

"Yeah! I'll be out in a minute!" He yelled back.

I walked from his door and went and grabbed my bags before waiting in the living room for him. He showed up after about ten more minutes, his suitcase in hand and his bookbag shouldered. He looked better now, hair brushed and styled, wearing jeans and a black sweater. His jacket was nowhere to be seen, which I was fine with.

"Ready?" I asked him, standing up.

"Yes, squirt." He replied, ruffling my hair as he passed by me.

I scowled at him, but followed him out the door. I locked it behind us and put my key into my pocket. Just as I turned to go wait at the end of the driveway with William, I heard the sound of a car pulling up. Xena was sitting in her mom's suburban, grinning at us in the driver's side. She had her hair braided tightly, and was wearing dark jeans and a pink sweater today.
