Sky High Part - 17

Marie's POV

Warren and I were swaying to the soft music, in the background. My head falling lightly on his shoulder. Warren and I didn't kiss, I just blacked out.

I bit my bottom lip softly at the thought my mind falling on what I was doing, I had my head softly lent on Warrens right shoulder, his arms gripped my hips to keep me steady. I didn't mind at all I pushed myself further into him enjoying the moment.

His head was near my ear  and I could feel the small breezes of his breath, which caused in recounting on what I had day dreamed about. I could feel Warren tense at how I must've been acting and pulled me away from him grabbing my shoulders forcefully to face him.

My eyes went wide, when his eyes burned into mine. Literally I swear he had heat vision, because his stare was so intense that he didn't even have to speak for me to willingly tell him.

Gulping at the tension, my eyes landed on his lips, mine quivered into a pout, wanting Warren to stop glaring at me to tell him what was wrong, because I was to scared he didn't feel the same way.

I huffed when he stood his ground and looked down at my hands.

"I have a bad feeling about this dance Warren" I didn't dare to look up at Warren when I heard a small.'Oh' from him, my eyes went wide and i couldn't help but to rethink on what i said, he was about to let my shoulders go, but when he was going to I grabbed his hands in mine. In a fast reflex his eyes snapped downwards to me.

"It's not because of you" I said quickly looking around.

"Somethings wrong, in here" I felt my head pulled into inches away from his Warrens his eyes softly staring back at me, his beautiful lips curving into a heart warming smile.

"Nothing is wrong okay, it's just nerves. I'm here you're here, I'll protect you. You're safe" I grabbed Warrens palm lightly his thumb creasing my face I smiled at the light feeling. Warren seemed to feel who relaxed I had gotten because in a swift movement he pulled me into him, my head rested on the small of his chest I couldn't help but to smile at the action.

My heart seemed to beat uncontrollably hard and loud it was like my body was going to give away because of how lightheaded it was making me feel, I took in small breaths realizing that it wasn't the time to have a panic attack.

For some reason I believed Warren but apart of me didn't.

I sighed regaining my regular breathing pattern and smiled up at Warren, who had been staring at me that whole time. Blushing at his gaze I shook my head lightly chuckling. Before leaning my head back onto the small of his chest, but i think this time i struck a nerve because his breathing hitched for a moment.

His heart was a pounding mess.

My heart then decided to oh so join that breathing pattern I cursed. Really I just got you back to being steady. 

Looking up at Warren who seemed to be uneasy, it was like he waned to say something but he couldn't pin point what he wanted to say, his body also seemed like it wanted to do something but it couldn't. Kind of like mine. I heard him curse lightly under his breath his eyes landing on me once again.

I was surprised on what came next, It frightened me. Because when his hands came in contact with either side of my face it was like he knew what i wanted and was trying to provide it.

His lips parted to say something and when he did say. I don't know why but I wanted him to say the three words I'd longed for and within that moment I froze as if those words flowed through my body in which it became numb and I couldn't move from his grip, I was beyond happy at his choice of words that came from his mouth but he made me do what I wanted to do for so long.

"I like you so, Marie Steal. I really, really, really like you. Your eyes, your smile. How you don't care about other people opinions, your laugh, you're hair. You. Ever since you had come to Sky High I had this feeling a weird one that I'd never had before for anyone in my life. I am literally in love with you!" I looked down at my hands and counted to 10 quickly it was real this time and I was going to do this no matter what, but for some reason we both did it at the same time.

My hands landed on Warrens face, the both of us pulled each others faces together, our lips just a brush away. This was the moment. Our final minute.
