The young fox stared at Joel, and he had the feeling that something bad was going to happen. Ellie's grip tightened on his arm, and Joel could feel how scared she was. "Joel?"

"Ellie, c'mon." The poor thing looked like it hadn't eaten in months, and Joel didn't like the snarl it gave every other breath they took.

She stepped back, and tripped over herself. The fox started to charge. "Ellie!" It pounced on Ellie, and she was struggling to get it off. It buried its face in her side, and there was a sharp scream. It bit her.

"NO!" Joel whipped out his revolver and shot the fox over 3 times. It was more than dead, and now he was pissed.

No, it wasn't pissed. It was more of a scared feeling. Ellie had tears running down her face, and she gripped her side where the wound was. Joel crawled over to her, and moved her hands forcefully. "Okay, move your hands baby." Ellie screamed, and it came out as more of a forced squeal. "Listen to me, I know this hurts baby. You're going to be okay, baby, stay with me." By this point, Joel was sobbing. He decided to take action and not let Ellie be another Sarah.

He ran with her in his arms, blood leaking to the floor. Ellie's grip was painfully tight and her crying grew more frequent. Ellie's eye constantly rolled back, but Joel screamed at her to stay awake.

When Joel wasn't paying attention, Ellie passed out.

"Ellie? Baby?"
