"Have a nice day!" I yell after the last costumer. I sigh in relief because I finally get to go home after a very very long day. Working at a coffee shop that you partly own is a little difficult. There are rude people all the time, and screaming children at some point. And then there's somedays where there's barely any service, so all you're doing is starring at a wall. I shut off almost all of the lights, leaving the front two and the back two on. My manager is still here working on a few things. I grab my belongings and I head out of the shop. Today is an exceptionally gloomy day. It's been raining off and on all day, and the sun hasn't come out at all. Personally, I love rain, but this much of it all at once kind of sucks.

As I was walking down the sidewalk that leads me directly to my home, something caught my eye across the street from me, a guy that looked very familiar was looking at me. He almost looks like.... nah he couldn't be. I kept walking, forgetting what I saw, and head home.

When I get to my little apartment, my neighbor, Stacie, opens her door right when I get to my door. Like she was waiting for me or something. I put my key in the key hole and turn around to see a wide eyed Stacie starring back at me with a huge smile on her face. Typical Stacie.

"Hi Stacie. What's up?" I ask, smiling a friendly smile, but really all I wanted to do was take a hot shower and go to bed.

"Nothing much. I was just wondering if you, me and the girls wanted to go shopping then catch a movie later tonight?" She questions, jumping up and down slightly.

"Um well... I was just going to go to bed..." She cuts me off.

"Come on we never hang out?!" She's right. We used to be very good friends, but ever since I got promoted at work, that's all I've been doing. All I do is work. I contemplate whether or not I should say yes or no. I must've been taking forever to answer because Stacie starts to get impatient.

"Soooo......?" She sort of demands, but I ignore it.

"Yeah, I don't see why I can't go." I say smiling at her. She jumps up and down a lot more at this point. She takes one, long stride towards me and embraces me in a bear hug. I slightly tap her shoulder, feeling more and more tired as I stand here. She lets go and take another long stride to her door.

"What time?" I ask, before she shuts her door.

 "7:30... Is that okay?"

"Fine with me. Bye, Stacie!" I say, slightly waving as I shut my door. I thought maybe I would be able to have a nap before I go, but seeing as it's already 6:30, I don't see any kind of nap in my future.

I walk over to the TV and turn it on. I have it on all the time, because I am kind of afraid of silence.  I don't like sitting in silence. So every day, I come home from work and I turn on the TV or a fan or something that makes noise. I have to, or I wouldn't be able to sit still. I go straight to the World News and they say:

"Well the weather today will be par- Oh hold on one second. We are getting breaking news. Here is Carol Lynch on 107th in New York City." The screen changes and a women appears with a microphone up to her mouth, and a horrifying look in her eyes.

"Thank you Bryan. It seems that everyone is here on 107th in NYC, because someone is about to jump off this apartment building. The police are trying to get this person down, but they don't seem to be having much luck. This girl has been here for an hour and doesn't seem to want to jump, but she won't get off the edge either. The police have identified this girl and are trying to contact her parents to see if they can somehow find a way to change her mind-" The reporter stops for a second then turns around and cries out. All of a sudden, the camera zooms in on the women and there you see her jumping off the building. When she was about to hit the ground, a blur of a person like figure flew into her, grabbed her and set her on the ground. The figure then flew away and no one saw it. It all happened in just a few seconds. No one was able to figure out who-what it was. All I hear around the microphone are murmurs and cries of the towns people that saw this horrific thing happen right in front of their eyes.
