Chapter 19

Ruby

I'm ripping my room apart. It's two thirty in the morning. I was watching Netflix on my laptop, and I went to go to bed, and I remembered my phone charger is missing.

My phone is on three percent.

I looked everywhere. I'm getting really mad.

Everyone knows if Mom can't find it, it's gone.

I walk out into the hall.

There's light seeping through under their door.

I don't want to wake them. Rose's door has light seeping under it, and all the other rooms.

I walk into her room.

She's awake, on her laptop.

She looks up when I walk in.

"Yes?" she pulls her headphones out.

"I can't find my phone charger." I say.

"So look." She says.

"I looked everywhere. I wanna ask Mom."

She shrugs.

"So ask."

"She's still awake." I say.

"And?" Rose asks.

"And the door is shut." I sigh.

Caden comes strolling into the room.

Rowan must've heard us, because she walks in.

"It's fucking hot." Caden says, climbing in the bed with Rose.

Brooke comes in next.

"Somebody go knock on the door." I say.

"What door?" Caden asks.

"Mom and Dad's!" I say, exasperated.

They just start shaking their head.

I sigh, stomping across the hall.

I knock loudly.

"Mom!" I say.

Silence.

I try to open the door, but it's locked.

I knock louder.

"Mom!" I say again.

Brecklyn

Noah is moving in and out of me, his hand clamped down on my mouth to keep me from screaming in pleasure. I've got my fingers knotted in his hair. I'm so close, so close to finishing. I start arching my back, moaning into his hand.

And then somebody knocks loudly on the door.

Noah freezes, and the feeling slowly subsides to an insistent need. He's still inside of me.

We're both soaked in sweat.

"Mom!" Ruby calls.

I don't move.

I hear the doorknob jiggle, and then she knocks again, harder this time.

"Mom!" she repeats.

Noah looks down at me, and he's cringing.

I was right at the edge.

Slowly, he removes his hand from my mouth.

I am not doing anything until I finish having sex.
