The Pirate and The Princess
A Princess sat swinging her feet at the edge of a jetty, dried tears on her flushed cheeks. She looked out onto the horizon silently wishing she could leave.
"I can't do this." She thought to herself.
The Princess tried to hide her tears with the tips of her fingers, as she watched a tall, handsome pirate climb off a ship that was slumbering beside the jetty.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" the pirate said to her as he walked behind the blonde damsel. "The horizon, it's where I can truly think." He added just before he noticed her tears. "Why is a stunning princess like yourself crying?" He asked as he sat next to her on the cold stone, swinging a foot to sway off the edge, putting the other one behind her back.
"Because.. Because it's none of your business." She told him, rather harshly.
"Well it might not be, but I can try to listen." He replied.
"You won't understand. No one can." She said as a couple tears tumbled out of her eyes
"What's going on in that pretty head of yours, darling? You can tell me." He answered, as he brushed the tears off her face with his strong hands. She felt the cold metal of one of his rings against her warm cheek. Leaning into his touch she sighed.
"Alright. As you know, I am the princess, and I'm destined to be queen soon. It's just.. It's a lot of pressure, and my parents aren't making it any easier on me, as they have been making me talk to suitors all around. I just don't know what to do. This isn't the life I wanted, I want to be able to fall in love, with whoever I want. To be able to have the life I've always dreamed of." She spoke.
"Well go on." He told her.
"All my life I've always been told the same thing: No matter what you're feeling on the inside you must always put on a good face. Or. Always be on your best behaviour, you are going to be queen, and soon≤ you will have responsibilities where there is no room for error. It's just been a lot." She said.
"What's the life you've always dreamed of?" He asked intrigued, and sat closer to her.
"I've always wanted to travel, to visit different places, to experience new things. I've been stuck inside the castle walls for as long as I can remember. I've never really gotten to go anywhere." She told him genuinely.
"Well love, why don't I sail you far away from here? Take you to a different realm, a kingdom where you can start over. A place where you can be happy. He said.
"Let me guess. With you." She responded.
"Whatever your heart desires, that's all I want for you." He said with his enthralling accent.
His accent was an accent like no other. A mix of a beautiful British accent with a deep Irish one. It was an accent that could lead any woman under a spell, it was like a siren. To match his enchanting accent, he has the appeal of a prince. The way his jet black hair was pushed back, and how his stubble sculpts his jaw perfectly. And his eyes, oh those eyes that she could get lost in for hours, were a gorgeous shade of blue, which reminded her grandly of the tenerife sea. He surely would fit the characteristics of a prince.' She thought before she came up with a frisky response.
"You're a real charmer. Aren't you?" She smirked.
"Maybe." He smiled. "So are you going to answer my question?"
"Umm.. I... I think I want to... Leave with... with you." She answered nervously which brought a huge smile to his face.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah.. Uh I think it's time that I actually start living my life.. For me. To do what I want. And what I want is to leave.. With you." She muttered that last part, hoping he didn't hear.
"What about the kingdom and your family?" He asked.
"My family won't really care if I'm gone.. I mean they don't even acknowledge me unless it's to say that I'm doing something wrong, and I have a little sister. She could lead without a trouble." She told him, truthfully.
"Isn't there a ball tonight?"
"Oh yeah. I kind of need to go to that. Do you think we can leave tomorrow?" She asked him.
"Of course love, I have an idea" He smirked. "What about I take you to the ball at your castle tonight? I can show you a great time." He suggested.
"Listen, you seem nice. But how do I know that you are not just trying to use me as a ransom to gain something you want? For all I know, you could have my death already planned out." She said as she leaned further away from him.
"Why would I even think about hurting an angelic beauty, such as yourself. That would be bad form. No. I want to help you, in anyway I can." He moved closer to her giving a heart warming smile.
"Nobody has ever said such nice things about me." She said as she turned crimson from head to toe.
"Well love, you deserve that and so much more." He gave her an honest smile.
"Why are you being so nice to me? We just met." She asked.
"Because I see a beautiful girl, who is stuck in a life she doesn't want, and I intend to help you." He answers which makes her smile.
"What time will I meet you there?" She questions him with a hint of elation in her voice.
"Wait so does that mean you are coming with me?" He asked excitedly.
"Yes silly!" She playfully hit his arm. "So what time?"
"How is eight?" He asked with a huge smile.
"Perfect!" She confirmed. "Come to the back of the castle, you will see a lone balcony. When you do, shout "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!"
"Rapunzel? Isn't she the maiden who was locked in a tower for years?" He questioned with a dorkish smile and a little laugh.
"Yeah." She answered which made him cock his eyebrow. "What don't judge me! I love fairytales!" She beamed.
"You're bloody adorable." He said with a laugh. She blushed again.
"I look forward to seeing you tonight, darling." He said as he got up and started to walk off, but before he could get far she stopped him with her voice.
"Wait! I didn't catch your name." She stated.
"Killian, Killian Jones. And you are Princess Emma Swan," He said.
"No longer a princess, but yeah." She assured him.
He walked over to her "I'll see you tonight, Swan." He said as he laid a gentle kiss on her cheek before he walked off.
His voice lingered in her head as she heard his footsteps echo away.
The princess left the jetty and took her time to go back home, savouring every smell because as of tomorrow, it would all be new. She got to her castle then snuck silently into her room to prepare for her new adventure with the pirate, she was really excited.
"Why not run away and live the life I want, instead of staying here and throwing it away." She muttered to herself, before she heard the sound of pebbles being thrown at her balcony.
"Let the fun begin."
