Deep within a dimension of darkness lies a lone, crumbling fortress. The surrounding grounds are rocky and barren; nothing grows here, nor shall anything ever grow here. Jagged pillars, curved and sharp like talons, jut out from the grey, lifeless sand. Angry winds whip across the exanimate landscape, pushing and impacting whatever blocks its path. Gloomy clouds, bare of rain or purpose, provide a blanket of shadowy darkness across the dimension. Toothed mountains surrounded the deserted clearing, their ridged tops blurred and hidden by the clouds. The forgotten castle is the only structure to be seen, and it lies dead in the middle of the unforgiving landscape. The deteriorating stone walls of the fortress have been weathered down from the relentless wind, creating thousands of cracks and crevices. Few windows remain intact without cracks or damage, those that have survived the environment are dirtied by sand and grime. With such conditions, one would think it is impossible for any life to reside here. This vain belief is a result of the ignorance of the innocents who reside in a dimension of happiness, far beyond what lies here. For unknown to the inhabitants of the lands beyond, a sinister darkness resides within the walls of the fortress, one that would give anything to take its revenge on those that imprisoned it. In the tallest tower of the castle a great evil waits patiently for a moment to come where it can advance its plans.

It gazed through the clouded windows of the tower, observing the barrenness of the land which imprisoned himself and his colleagues. Not for much longer it thought, clenching his fists slightly. That pesky mouse will finally meet his downfall, as will everyone else who ever dared challenge the might of the darkness. A door from behind suddenly swung open, pulling the darkness away from its thoughts. Master, an accented, raspy voice called. Im sorry to disturb you, but I have brought urgent news. It slowly panned his eyes away from the window and focused his gaze on the grimy wall; his head turned slightly towards the speaker, but not enough to show his face. I will overlook your intrusion this time. What brings you here, Jafar?

The darkness spoke with an emotionless, whispery voice; he turned to face Jafar, narrowing his glowing eyes at the perverse genie. The skinny, dark-haired man took a small step into the room with his slightly bowed and right hand over his heart in respect for his master. There's a breach in the western aurosphere. I've left some of the others there to watch over it, so I could come and inform you. Cautiously, Jafar straightened himself and moved further into the room. Master this is wonderous news! For years we have all rotted away here in this God forsaken wasteland, but now we finally have an opportunity to escape. I am aware of that you fool! It snapped, his beady, red eyes full of irritation. Jafar immediately bowed his head, his body sinking a bit in submission. Tensions high in the room, both master and servant remained silent for a moment. The darkness let out a whispery sigh, Round up the rest of my forces and take them to the breach. Await further instruction there, I will make my way there soon. Before the next sunrise my plans will have been put into motion. As you wish Master, the genie bowed and left the tower, closing the door behind him. It turned back towards the window; a small, sinister smile crept up his dark face, revealing a reddish glow that illuminated from his mouth. Prepare yourselves Fayannians, the time of the Darkness is nearly upon you. That foolish rodent believed he had ridden the lands of all evil, forever trapping us here in this oblivion. But he was wrong, we shall return and take our revenge For we are numerous, we are strong, and we shall succeed in the end! The darkness began to emit a blacker aura around it, swirling and circling violently with rage-filled power. Satisfied by his display of might, It urged the energy upwards. The malicious aura obeyed, suddenly surging up and through the roof to the sky. The darkness watched his powers burst into a ring of dark energy that streaked outwards across the night sky. Let this be a sign to you, Micky Our return to Fayanna is far sooner than you think

Hey Guys! Long time no see! I haven't touched this series in YEARS. Wow. I first started writing Revenge back in 6th grade, now I'm a Senior in Highschool preparing to graduate and move on with life. I took a moment to look back and remember Wattpad and my stories, and I decided it's time to rewrite Revenge in a more detailed, professional fashion. I do hope you all enjoy the series! See you next chapter!
