The Talented Dancer

The Beginning

Growing up with a mother who was a drug addict and a father who was abusive was never easy. After I was removed from that house at age five I was put into foster care and was in the system for three years until a family came and adopted me. I'm still with them to this day and to me they have always been my parents. My dad is the CEO of a big business in America and my mom is a fashion designer, so I guess I always look good. They adopted me because they weren't able to have kids of their own and they said having me was the greatest blessing of their life, but honestly I think it was the other way around.

Since being removed from my birth parents and going through foster care I found dance and that was my outlet for everything. Dance has always been my passion and dream in life. My all time goal is to dance on stage with my favorite kpop group 2NE1. When my dance instructor told me that there were several opportunities to audition for multiple kpop groups in Korea, I had a chat with my parents which I didn't think was going to go as good as it did.

Rose: Hey, mom, dad, can I talk to you guys about something?

Dad: Sure, Honey, what is it?

Rose: I was wondering how you guys would feel about me learning dance internationally or possibly perform with a music group from Korea?

Mom: Where is this coming from?

Rose: Well, my dance instructor, Mr. Laine, told me about some opportunities in Korea to audition to be a backup dancer for multiple music groups there. And one of the groups is 2NE1, my favorite kpop group, as you know. He said he would email me the names of all the groups and I can decide what groups I want to audition for, but I wanted to talk to you guys first before I decided anything, since I still live with you guys and all.

There was, what seemed like, a long pause as my mom looked at my dad. Almost like they were communicating telepathically. When they both looked at me, my heart started to beat fast.

Mom: I think that would be a wonderful experience and I think you could make it.

Dad: Yea, Honey, I think you should go and audition and even if you don't make it your mother and I will be proud of you no matter what.

Rose: Thanks mom and dad.

I got up and gave my parents a hug. Knowing that they fully understood what I wanted in life and what my dreams were made me happy. My birth parents, nor my foster parents, ever cared about me the way my parents do and I could never thank them enough for the life they have given me.

As I was leaving the living room to go upstairs into my room, my phone vibrated and I got an email from Mr. Laine about all the kpop groups that were holding auditions for back-up dancers. As I was scrolling I noticed there was one group I had never heard of before.

Rose: Bangtan Boys? I wonder if they are going to be debuting soon. Looks like I am going to have to do some research.

When I got upstairs I opened my laptop, sat down on my bed, and started researching Bangtan Boys. I learned that there were seven members, their youngest member was Jungkook, who is 16 and their oldest member is Jin who is 21. That is a little bit of an age gap. I thought to myself. I also learned that they have three rappers and four vocalist. The rappers are Suga, Rap Monster, and J-Hope. The Vocalist are Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

When I looked up pictures of them not much came up, but enough to get a visual of what they look like. I wasn't going to lie they were all pretty good looking and their sense of style was incredible. I'm sure if my mom were to see their fashion sense she would give them a reward or tell me to marry one of them. But each of them gave off their own aura when they took pictures together. I can't wait to see more of the Bangtan Boys or should I say BTS?
