When we were 23 you were finally able to leave the mental facility.

I waited by the doorway of the facility with an umbrella, because it was raining hard. I wore your favorite sweater with ripped skinny jeans and red converse. I wore a light pink baseball cap that I had borrowed from your friend, Namjoon. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face as I listened to my music and waited for you to walk out of the doors.

My foot tapped in anticipation. I stood under the small roof infront of the building to stay dry. My umbrella; nicely folded and by my side.

My head shot up as I heard the door open. I smiled, waiting to not only see your face, but be able to touch it.

But it wasn't you who walked out, it was your doctor.

My smiled dropped, but I didn't let myself jump to conclusions.

"Yi seul?" the doctor asked getting my full attention.

"Yes?" I asked trying to keep my voice from cracking.

"We can't let him go today," he said, not beating around the bush.

"Why?" I asked.

"We can't run the risk of him attempting again," he said.

"Attempting again? He's been in there for a year! He- he has to be fine," I said, looking around helplessly.

I pinched myself, trying to wake myself up.

"I know this is hard for you-" I cut him off. I was angry.

"You can't keep him there forever! How do you expect him to get better if you deprive him of everything he loves? He'll go crazy! Even I'll go crazy!" I said, I couldn't keep my thoughts together, there was so much it was overwhelming. I took a calming breath. "How much longer?" I asked.

"Give him just a month. We're taking him off all medication and we wanna make sure he reacts well," the doctor smiled, trying to reassure me.

"Okay," I sighed. I turned on my heels and left into the rain.

My tears mixed with the rain and my clothes got soaked quickly. I slowly walked home, not bothering to unfold my umbrella.
